Just started Oblivion and I have all these items that I want to sell but cannot figure out how to sell the items?

Need help in trying to figure out how to sell the items I have to the merchants-just started the game and I am at the first town.

In order to sell items you must first find some one that you can buy items from and then click on the left trigger and this is all i know i play on the 360 to so.....
