The second Morrowind expansion pack will turn you into a werewolf on the island of Solstheim.

The immensely popular PC RPG The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind has already received one expansion pack in last fall's Tribunal, and it will soon get another in the form of Bloodmoon, which Bethesda Softworks will be showing off at E3. Like Tribunal, Bloodmoon is designed to integrate fully and seamlessly with the original Morrowind, and thus it can be experienced at any time by a player making his or her way through the main game's storyline.

Bloodmoon will be set on the island of Solstheim, located to the northwest of Morrowind's main continent of Vvardenfell. Solstheim is an icy, largely unpopulated wilderness where the Empire hopes to establish a mining operation. You'll be sent there to help with this effort, but in the process you may become involved with the local wildlife, including werewolves. In fact, if you contract lycanthropy during an attack, you may even become one of them. Players who become werewolves will receive strength, speed, and agility bonuses, a new ability called "eye of the wolf," and a variety of strange and terrible nighttime activities.

The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon will make a host of additions to the Morrowind framework, including a variety of new enemies, locales, and weather effects like snow and blizzards. Bethesda says that Bloodmoon is targeted at high-level characters, so players who have already finished Morrowind will still find a good deal of challenge in this new expansion pack. We'll bring you more information on The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon as it becomes available.
