It's come a hell of a long way

User Rating: 10 | The Elder Scrolls: Arena PC
From 1994 up til the present day we've seen the transition from the very first Elder Scrolls blatantly named Arena all the way up to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Although many have only played either Morrowind or Oblivion, the original two Elder Scrolls for the DOS were superior for their time and were even bigger in traversible size than either Morrowind or Oblivion which has been stated that the map is litterally the size of Great Britain. Even though the graphics do look dated, and the gameplay can be a little frustrating at times, it'll get you hooked immediately and you'll see exactly how everything all started in the First Era of Tamriel. It's amazing to see how intuitive and interactive this game was for 1994, and since the game is now free for downloading on the Elder Scrolls official website, it makes it even more worthwhile to play. I just wish they would bring out Daggerfall as a free download beside it, hopefully maybe in the next year or so they'll do this. But for the time being I say Arena is definately worth the playthrough especially since it's free. The control scheme may take some time to get used to but other than that it's an amazing game and I recommend it to anyone whose a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series or just looking for a game to take up their copious amounts of free time.
