Dream Machine is a true gem of an indie point-n-click adventure w/ a great unique art style, and immersive game world.

User Rating: 8.5 | The Dream Machine PC
We've seen some terrific "indie" point-and-click adventures recently (e.g. Machinatium), and Dream Machine is easily one of the best out there. It combines great looking hand-crafted (paper, clay) stop-motion animation, super creepy and immersive visual and audio design, and a nicely paced, mysterious adventure. (Note: this review is of the first two chapters only -- chapter 3 is not yet available as of this writing...)

The good:
* Terrific hand-crafted visual elements that are well animated and create a unique, and terrific, atmosphere.
* Creepy, ambient musical score that's nothing catchy, but adds a ton to the atmosphere of mystery.
* Snappy pacing -- there's no unnecessary backtracking or annoying fetch questing.
* Engaging storyline -- the first two chapters are laying the skeleton for the rest of the chapters, and it's drawing me in...

The not-as-good:
* Dialog has been "fine" -- it's very straight and colloquial, nothing terribly clever. Not really a "bad", just nothing stand out, and it's thankfully free of cheesy attempts at humor...
* It's pretty easy, puzzle-wise, so far. The puzzles aren't bad or even overly contrived, just nothing to write home about yet. Better than this review, certainly.

Overall, for point-and-click adventure fans, it's well worth your time and money!
