HVS does a good job with their first FPS on the Wii.

User Rating: 8.5 | The Conduit WII
I had anticipated The Conduit for a long time before it came out-- I had it preordered at Gamestop and everything. This game, while not perfect, is a really good attempt to make a unique FPS for the Wii.

Graphics: 9/10 The graphics are really good, with a reasonably good variety of environments and a good amount of detail. The character animations are very fluid and the special effects are cool (especially when you vaporize an enemy with a weapon).

Sound: 9/10 The game has good voiceover work, except for the fact that the voiceover for Michael Ford could have been stronger-- the actor who voices him sounds a little weak. The music is involving and creates a suspenseful atmosphere at times. The weapons sounds are really good, too.

Control: 9/10 The control scheme for The Conduit is very well-done. The controls are generally responsive, with the exception that it seems to take two button presses to reload your weapon sometimes.

Content: 8/10 Lots of action, lots of shooting, and lots of aliens and humans out to kill you. The game has a good storyline and background to it. The only drawback is that it's too short-- only 9 missions. 15 would have been better.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10
