Despite a lackluster single-player, The Conduit offers a very fun shooter experience for any Wii owner looking for one.

User Rating: 8 | The Conduit WII
For any multi-platform owner thinking of purchasing The Conduit you might want to think twice. Whether you have a 360 or PS3, you have quite a few better shooting experiences available to you than The Conduit. However anyone looking for a real built out pure shooter for the Wii or only have the Wii for this generation of consoles, I'm glad to say you can buy The Conduit without regretting it one bit. This is a real Wii shooter.

In the single player mode you take control of an agent called Michael Ford who's been recruited by a mysterious organization called The Trust to take on a secret mission. The story is shady, a bit too shady for it's own good and lacks really good structure but a lot of evidence points towards a sequel which will hopefully uncover more about Mr.Ford and The Trust. The levels in the single player mode are composed of rather narrow corridors and rooms where you must navigate from one spot to another while fending off human and alien monsters. It ends up being a lot of fun but a bit too linear. It's not long either, it took me around 7 hours to complete.

There's a very large and impressive set of weapons to use in the game and using all of the game's original weapons and human weapons ends up being a lot of fun. The environment's graphics are pretty bland and not very good-looking but the weapons, your hands, the enemies, the explosions and pretty much everything else that moves are extremely impressive for the Wii. The controls are customizable in pretty much every way imaginable which is a real great thing the game did, if you just take time to find you perfect control setting then you will be very impressed how very well they can work.

The game's best feature is the very well thought out 12-player online multiplayer. This is some of the best online you can find on the Wii and is fantastic for anyone looking for good online on the Wii. I rarely encountered any lag, the only real problem with the online is a random glitch that occasionally happens when you get into a game and the only thing to do is wait until that game is over and you can get into the next one and start having some fun! It's a real shame there's no local multiplayer or guest online though.

Gameplay: 7.5/10
The single-player mode is a bit too simplistic but it works and ends up being good, simple fun. But the multiplayer is where the game really shines.

Graphics: 8.0/10
The environments are really nothing special and quite ugly but everything else looks really great.

Sound/Music: 8.0/10
The music is well done but nothing special, but the sounds are really good though and the voice acting is excellent but should have been used better.

Controls: 9.5/10
Absolutely fantastic and customizable to your hearts content until you really find something that works for you, there are limits to the button mapping though. All Wii shooters should include this system, The Conduit set a new standard for Wii shooter controls. It's what convinced that the game does deserve that 8.0!

Overall: 8.0/10
If you like FPS games and the Wii is your only current gen console than this is most definitely your best choice out there. However, If your a multi-platform owner then you have better FPS choices out there than The Conduit, unless you just want to play a good FPS on your Wii.
