User Rating: 8.5 | The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay - Developer's Cut PC
Butch Bay is a neat approach to the typical FPS. Alot of the time you must use your fists, which doesn't always have the tactical nuances of gun play, but it does the trick. One of the earliest fights, a knife fight is the most difficult of the game. You'll get your weapons, lose them all, and get them again. The story in Butcher Bay is violent and profane, sometimes disturbing, but it works. You're escaping one of the most grueling prison environments in the galaxy, and just when you thought it could get no worse, you'll be sent down to the maximum security section, where prisoners get through down a chasm just for ticking off the guards. They'll be plenty of guards to bushwhack, other prisoners to fight, and even some monsters from the depths of the planet to fight. Cut scenes are nice, if a bit dated.
This isn't the best game in the world, but it's up there in the top tier. If you enjoy brutal FPS action and enjoy the tense futuristic world of Riddick, you'll have some fun with this game.
