The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is fun, undoubtfully, but it does not give me the charming and addictive feeling that certain games do. I play casually, but trust me, I can become hardcore if I see a promising game. All in all, from the reviews I skimmed across, I judged that the Chronicles of Narnia would leave me with a satisfyed feeling. It certainly did, but it did not catch enough of my attention.
The gameplay, ah, it can be fun at times, and at other times it can be a stab in the back. Most of the time, the levels are pointless and do not enlighten my interest as I expect from epic games like this. (Take the LOTR trilogy for example. Superior movies, but only decent games) Perhaps the only true highlight of the gameplay was that there were cut-scene video clips from the film...
And now, onto the graphics. They meet the standards that are expected from games today, but they do not blow you away to the point where you're thinking, "Wow. Now that's an accomplishment!". Cheesy and fascinating at times, you kind of get a mixed bag from the graphics.
The sound. What can I say about the sound? Well, for starters, it is toe-tapping and cheery when need be, and it is dreary and epic when need be. No big faults here, as the music during the game is really flawless in most concepts. (If only the actual game was as good as its sound...)
All of this boils down to the value. Rental bin or Wal-Mart? Well, this game isn't something I'd want to buy...but then again, that's just the kind of gamer I am. In fact, you'd be better off just going to the nearest video store and testing the game out first. That way, you could see if it grasps your interest.
And finally, the controls. They are easy to follow and take no time at all to learn. Just give it about five minutes and you'll be an expert at mastering the curves. Most of the time, the controls are difficult to use (As you have no control on zooming in, which can be annoying at times, too!)
I hope this review has helped you with your gaming choices.
All the best.

I recorded more footage for my last video blog than I actually used (as I usually do), so I figured why not get around to posting the rest of the footage. Here's more game-play from the Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.Posted Apr 15, 2009
