A classic click and point... I'm just not so keen on the genre.

I'll preface this with- it adds nothing to what Pajama Sam had in the 90's.

Story -

The plot is... kind of holey. You start very seriously.. trying to save an old gremlin who has been kidnapped... and quickly the scene devolves into a child's mindset, where everything is funny and they're always cracking jokes. I guess it's necessary to keep the game interesting, but when failing challenges is the funniest thing that there is to the game then the game needs improvements

(spoiler--- reference to failing the challenge in the Wild Lands and getting carried out of the mine by the Earth Fairies)

The ending, in and of itself isn't serious at all either.. which kind of kills it for me.

I'm going to assume the game was made to be a sort of satire against other PC games. There are many references to games and they make many jokes about MMOs, FPS, and such but they aren't funny enough to make the game worth playing.

Gameplay - It's okay. I mean, it's simply Pajama Sam, if you've ever played it. That was all well and dandy for kids, but this game isn't aimed at kids... Some of the controls for a few of the challenges were a pain, too. My control pad buttons are a bit small, so using them for one of the challenges was.... obnoxious, even if it was pretty funny when you finally succeeded.

Graphics - This is where it has Pajama Sam beaten. The graphics are much nicer, but then again, P.S. is a kid's game.

Audio/Dialogue/Voice actors - This is pretty good. The game had a decent soundtrack that fit well, but kind of made you miss what the game was about. The soundtrack was geared towards something epic, but the game was much more humorous than an Epic quest.

The dialogue was funny, I won't deny it. It, however, was not worth the slight boringness of the game. The game just made you do simple tasks, and even made a running joke about it towards the end where they joke that they could do anything if they knew the three tasks required to do it.

The voice actors were good, but rarely got seriously into the part. Most likely there was nothing to get into because the characters had no depth whatsoever.

I can't think of anything else that I'm missing about the game. Controls - simple, graphics - nice, plot - weak, humor - I got a few laughs, audio - okay.

Bottom line, I wouldn't buy this game. Maybe a renter if you're dead set on trying it for yourself but it's not worth the 30$. I wouldn't have bought it if I wasn't given it as a gift for that price.

So, a renter, not a buyer. You'll be done in >10 hours, or a little more if you take your time. I bet you could beat it in >1 or 2 with a walk-through if you're just in it for the dialogue. Regardless, get caught by the earth pixies for a few laughs, even if you use a guide.
