The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and It's Infinite Fun.

User Rating: 9 | The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth PC

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is the greatest game of all time.

Being someone who never played the original game and just randomly started playing it a couple years ago now has 544 hours currently on record can safely say this game is well worth the $16.99 price tag it has on Steam.

First of all, you have to understand what kind of game this is. It's a randomly generated dungeon crawling RPG shooter. Meaning you play the game until you either die or beat it, then when you beat it you play it again but the next time you play it's going to be completely different.

In this game, you play as Isaac, a little-naked kid running away from his crazy mom who's trying to kill him. On your way down you encounter waves of bizarre and disturbing creatures, while also finding different items which give you abilities depending on which ones you get. You start in the basement and make your way through floors like the caves and the depths, eventually making your way to either heaven or hell depending on which one you chose. If you die you start over and do it again and hope for better items.

Speaking about the items, currently, with all the DLC there are 504 items to randomly encounter, not including trinkets, pills, cards, and runes. Having that many items in a randomly generated game like this mean virtually unlimited game-play.

When it comes to the controls I find it kind of weird how you don't use the mouse to aim, kind of like how Nuclear Throne does it. No, instead you use the arrow keys to aim and shoot, and that is the reason why I use a controller to play this game. The aiming and movement feel very inaccurate on a keyboard. While on a controller moving around with an analog stick is much smoother and aiming with the ABXY buttons feels just right.

The thing I love most about this game is how, on one hand, you could get super lucky with all the items you get, become super overpowered and beat the game in minutes. Or you could get super unlucky and not even stand a chance at beating that run.

Don't be scared of all the items and thinking you need to remember them all. Just buy the game, start playing it and you'll naturally learn them over time.

I could play this game forever. 5/5 MASTAPEECE.
