The Bigs is a very good PS2 baseball game, if not the best one of 2007.

User Rating: 8.5 | The Bigs PS2
The Bigs is very different from any other baseball game. With the new use of power-ups and very effective home runs, this is a very entertaining game (even without the ability to just sock a player in the face, like in Slugfest). Still using the classic career, you make your make your own character and customize him to your hearts desire. A cool feature is that you can customize your bat, with flames or an american flag. A new feature is the points system. You earn points for doing good things and loose points for doing bad things. Examples of good are: getting a home run, striking a person out (pitching), and catching a ball mid-air (fielding). Examples of bad are: getting struck out, causing the end of the inning, or it being your fault your team lost a game. In-game features include the new power-up feature. Here are some cool abilities of power-ups.

Pitching: the ability to pitch faster (120+ MPH instead of 90+ MPH), a bigger throwing range, and higher stats.

Batting: the ability to hit a lot harder. Use power (square) and your about 95% going to get a home run. If you use the power-up and get a home run it will most likely hit a billboard or post, sending sparks flying everywhere.

Fielding: the ability to run faster, the ability to jump higher on the wall, and raised stats.

With all the abilities of this game, I give The Bigs for the PlayStation 2 an 8.5 out of 10.
