The Beatles Rock Band is the latest installment in the Rock Band series, but don't expect it to be much like it's predecessors. The gameplay is very similar, and the visuals are much the same but with a cool 60's twist. However, the game lacks some of the more enjoyable features of the previous Rock Band titles. There is no room to customise your rocker, you're stuck with John, Paul, George and Ringo. There are no drum-fills or big rock endings. And of course, there is real diversity in the tracklist; it's all Beatles music (duh!) The career mode tells the history of the Beatles, which is interesting (at least to anyone who really cares about the band.) The player then plays through a decent collection of Beatles music, but there is one major let down to any hardcore gamers- the songs are all really, really easy. Even on expert, a player of moderate skill will have a hard time failing out. This would make the game great for youngsters who haven't mastered the Rock Band peripherals, however, it is unlikely that kids will find the sounds of the Beatles as fascinating as their more devoted fans. In all, the Beatles Rock Band is a game that I'd only recommend to true Beatles fans. To anyone else, the fun is really short-lived.
