- "Just plain fun"
RPG's that are not based on anime plots and characters are so incredibly hard to find since the demise of Baldur's Gate that I will give almost any western rpg a shot.
Having played all the Bard's Tales from the old days, I wasn't sure what to expect, but my expectations were low. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with this quirky little title.
While it won't blow away the statistic fanatics or the hard core D&D gamers, it is a extremely fun game to participate in.
From the off coloured quips to the almost Monty Python like songs, I would save the game at certain points to share the fun with friends and family.
Game play is pretty easy and you can get through the game quickly, but its not going to cost you much at this day and age. If you have a PS2 or and XBOX and want to laugh at the silly antics of a semi-scoundrel as he fast talks, fights and sneaks his way through a light adventure, play the game.

Not groundbreaking by any means, but the incredible humor and cheekiness of Bard's Tale kept me interested.

The ending you get if you choose to quit just before the final battle. Best ending, in my opinion.Posted Aug 7, 2008
