Video Review - The Amazing Spider-Man

the fans who applaus to SpiderMan in the game are pretty cool. The game itself seems interesting, remembers very well of the comics, reminds a lot of the Batman game. Especially flying over Manhattan looks terrific!

It's like Batman: Arkham Asylum.. but without Batman? I'm sold. Sorry Bat-fans, I hate all things Bat. Even though the game itself is very good, I still couldn't get through the Batman game because I don't like Batman. His whole idea has been absurd since the 1950's, and he's the only "hero" who's alter ego is MUCH more powerful, and can do WAY more good, than him. The open roaming here won me over here, and since it's now at a reduced price, a 7.5 game is an easy buy!

those of you who say that the graphics are crap - you are idiots...just look how the spidey looks and how all the buildings are shining and reflecting other objects. and if they would have made the webs sticking to the building every time, then you couldn't swing in alot of places. you would be running or jumping on the streets or over the buildings which isn't very fun, but now you can swing everywhere. the story looks good, game is long, lots to do and unlock. And they say the combat is easy. i wouldn't say the combat was hard in batman games...it was also quite easy. im not saying that this game is better than batman games, which are unique, but taking some ideas and adapting them to spiderman isn't bad. i'd say this game is a 8 or 9. and definetly the best spidey game of all time.

ok after giving it some thought, I think the best spiderman game would be: one that has the swinging/climbing/jumping/roaming mechanics of spiderman2 and the stealth/action and collectibles of the nintendo64/playstation spiderman games. and of course combat based around spideys super reflexes and web slinging. And even throw a 'taunt' button in there for good measure that puts enemies into a rage. (Lets not downplay how important spidey's wise ass remarks are to his character.)

This game seems to really emphasize the idea that some games just are not worth the AAA price when they use existing engines and mechanics with a nice/new wrapper and a franchise name.

The amazing spider man is the ultimate spider man I loved the graphics, the stunts, the moves, also the action. The only problem is that it isn't in ps2. That's why I'm going to buy an Xbox 360

Lol clone of batman and prototype, nothing revolutionary, shitty recycled gameplay and mediocre graphics, QTEs, easy, console port, based on new movie.............. NO THANKS

i see spiderman throw his webs in the air and not on the buildings to move in the city,you have to know that you are not making any kind of progres in showing us the same spiderman shitty graphics all the years!  I DONT LIKE IT

Its worth.

The game's detail is still lacking in the environment and sense of insane fun is off. I think the whole game will be more touch and go when the PS4 comes out but thankfully some games have shown promise. I like some of the classic feel and bigger Spiderman character details. At least just a bit more realistic depth could have jumped out to grab my cash

At least the web-slinging over the city looks interesting enough.....

I've just finished playing this game. It's safe to say that this is a "poor man's version" of Arkham City/Arkham Asylum.

It was fun & Spidey was funny, but it's not as great as the Batman/Arkham series from which it  took a lot of inspiration from.

I want to buy this game, but I don't found it in shops ! It's annoys me ! Where can I buy it please ?

Ok, but since Spiderman 2 I've waited for the perfect Spiderman game and this still isn't anywhere near it.

Webswinging is terrible. At the very least it should be like in SM2, but I'd prefer if it was like swinging in Bionic Commando in which I actually have to aim where I want to shoot. If I miss, I'll fall. That's the sort of speed, control and skill the game needs to be exciting. Even Arkham games have that in a small way.

Combat is also too easy and simple. Atleast in SM2/3 there were lots of combos, air juggling and special moves. The combat in ASM is just a glorified combo of Shattered Dimensions + Arkham Asylum. Arkham is great, but I don't want clones. Batman is supposed to be limited but effective in combat, Spiderman's agility should have no limits.

Speaking of Arkham, those games succeed because they are completely independent. Huge cast of villains and allies, detailed environments, original story and perfect athmosphere. ASM is still very much a licence game, which results in all the villains being nothing they could be and most of the time I'm doing boring chores in between travelling around the city. Attaching bugs to antennas? Please.

If you want to imitate Arkham, do it completely. Now they're trying to take parts from the super tight and scripted Arkham and put them into the open bland world of Spiderman2/3/U/WoS. Definitely not a winning formula.

I go by what the people think over what this site rates games i found the people are much better at it and the people say its an 8.3 what makes it a good game. I am not sure ill pick this game up that said i still have to beat 3 games im playing now before i think of buying another.

Listen everybody.. this game is a solid 8.5 anything less is being cynical, jaded and on batmans balls to hard. the swinging is great and your not sticking to clouds,like some have said. If you actually pay attention, he freefalls when you get above buildings.And when your safely below the rooftops you can stop and start swinging at will. The wall crawling is VASTLY improved, because the camera is smarter and you dont get frustrated like in past games. the side missions are great diversions from the main missions,and are varied enough to keep you immersed. All and all this is the best spidey game yet. But the one thing that would have put it OTT, is having the amazing spidey model and animations from shattered dims. the NEW SUIT IS CRAPTACULAR.

Go watch some YouTube gamely and you will see that the graphics are better. I don't like that his webs aren't attached to anything when he swings. It takes the whole fun out of free roam.

how can this be 7.5??? this doesnt disserve 6.5 really. i mean the graphics are alrayt but that web that you use to go around doesnt ever end or stick on to something, so bad angles, battle gameplay is boring as it tries to do it like the new batman, and it is not fun really, i mean there isnt much awesomeness in it. voice acting during battle should be there. I dont really like this game, i even think spider man 3 is better
