If you're a fan of the wall-crawler this game is a must have. You won't be disappointed despite chap 13 loading glitch

- The Bottom Line:
- "Just plain fun"
Opinion:
I'm a big fan of Marvel characters with my favorites being Spider-man and Hulk. I was a little leery on buying this game originally but when the price was recently reduced I took the plunge and never turned back. Spider-man is really Spider-man in this game! Wall crawling and swinging worked beautifully to the point where you lost yourself as the actual character.
Positives:
The camera movement and response was dead on. If you were either crawling on the wall or the ceiling your view of what was happening around you fully represented what your position was. Web swinging and crawling was awesome. The game truly captured the abilities of spider-man. I found no flaw in this. And the biggest bonus was Stan Lee's cameo appearance in the game (well … phone call to be exact).
Negatives:
Boss fights were too easy on hero difficulty. Super-hero would be for more hardcore players while hero for causal. The biggest glitch in the game was chapter 13 "Pete and Gwen". After beating the game this chapter unlocks but the glitch was the game continues to load where you have to exit out and reenter again. Doing this causes you to replay the final boss fight with the lizard again. To remedy this problem I found out online that you have to make sure your not on the internet, change the console setting to either December or August 2012 and replay the last boss fight. This cleared up the loading issue and opened up the free roam chapter 13. After you've saved within chapter 13 the loading glitch no longer occurs. No patches were available for this problem.
Overall:
This game was an awesome game to play. I had problems putting it down. It was very entertaining and not too challenging since I played at the hero level. Originally I gave the game an 8 but downgraded it to a 7.5 with the unresolved major glitch at the end. So it received a 7.5 which is like a B- in my books. It's a must game to have if you're into web-slinging!

Better than most movie tie-ins, The Amazing Spider-Man is a fun, but predictably rough, game.
