Bayou Billy is a compilation of 3 different game-play types which range from Shoot em up, beat em up and driving games into one which isn't bad for a NES title. Sadly though these games full flat thanks to the punishing difficulty and boring designed games mixed into it.

The story goes as Billy girlfriend Annabelle is kidnapped by Godfather Gordon and it's up to you to fight your way through 10 different stages each spanning 3 different game-types as the game goes on. The best of the package is the shooting segments and you got an option to plug in the NES Zapper to shoot down enemies. It's great fun no doubt but there are only two stages and the same goes for the driving stages and they are ridiculous to drive through because you got to try and dodge obstacles and vehicles which try to run you over quickly. It's hard to make dodges and plenty of more vehicles will spawn in making dodges more difficult to pull of. The worst of the bunch is the fighting stages which has 6 stages in total. You go through different checkpoints beating up enemies which take loads of hit to die unlike Double Dragon and Final Fight and also kill you easily by ganging up on you and it doesn't help with the stiff controls since it's hard to land attacks on anyone with everyone moving around so much. If you die 3 times and use a continue you simply start the level all over again which makes the difficulty more ridiculous.

The Adventures of Bayou Billy's compilation is too frustrating and features a hand full of issues but as far most players are concerned this is been made more harder then the original Japanese version. The difficulty of the English should have been the same as the Japanese version as this triple compilation doesn't really help Billy's problems thanks to ridiculous beat em up and driving stages and a punishing difficulty setting.
