The 7th guest is one of the best games that I have ever played. Even though it's old, the graphics are quite nice, and the music is extremely good, sort of creepy. It comes in at all the right places, and fits perfectly. Henry Stauf (STAUF=FAUST), the evil genius of the game, is played marvelously by Robert Hirschboeck. His whole appearance just gives me the creeps, and when he laughs you can almost feel it in your bones.
The dark mansion is falling apart, and when you explore its rooms, you find that the guests that Stauf invited a long time ago, maybe shouldn't have joined the festivities. You play Ego, the 7th guest, the one that is supposed to solve the mystery of old man Stauf's diabolical plan. You do so by solving a number of puzzles, that have been set up by Stauf, all the way from the maze in the cellar, to the attic of the haunted manor house. Some of the puzzles are very hard, especially the microscope puzzle, which is almost criminally difficult. This is beside the point though, as the game is so good at all other times. I definitely recommend it to everyone that have even the slightest interest in classic adventure games. The atmosphere is simply amazing!
