Some people actually already have Full Access. So you're not paying to play a Beta, you pay for having Full Acces. Think about that.

I agree with alishaikh199. Betas have always been free so why should I pay $39.95 for Total Access to be able to test this beta. I guess I will just wait for the full release.

You mentioned flawed game concepts... I played the beta. There was no Tiberium harvesting... I stopped playing. lol.

    Posted Nov 28, 2009 10:17 am PT

all the people complaining never played beta, and gamers are quick to predict the end of the world at the first sign of anything. if the game's actual concepts, not the engine or graphics, were flawed, then maybe theres a problem,

Dude you know they IMPROVE THE ENGINE it still has months more of development and they could do a lot.

Alright just played.. excuse me. STRUGGLED to play the beta. Lemme start of by saying the automatch making doesnt work. Tried it 3 times nothing so I joined a custom game of only 5 v 5 maps. Ok so the game begins and I must say, it looks like crap. HOW can CNC 4 look worse than CNC 3 or Red alert 3, I know alot of you are saying oh its the beta, but I fear its more than that, the engine shows its wear and tear here badly. Now onto the game, This is not command and conquer. This is some soon to be failed experiment by EA to change things. You spam the same units back and forth, capture points and keep your "base" command unit alive.Clicking on units is a pain since they are all tiny and clump up, so focus firing is a real pain in the ass. Most of the time your units dont even counter attack until you tell them too. My unit of orcas sat there being shot at for a good minute until I told them to attack, I didnt have any key pressed and they were on defensive too so maybe its a bug. Resource gathering is moronic, you get a chunk of tiberium dropped by the scrin and bring it back to your base for research points, back and forth thats it. Manual resource gathering, this game is less RTS and more Micro-managing-motherf%@ery. MMM. Thanks EA for the bad taste left in my mouth after the beta, this makes me regret spending the $6 bucks to get this gamespot account. I could of used the money on a bottle of jack or something, at least then I can piss my money out without regret.

Don't blame EA games. They gave the BETA's to Gamespot, and it's their decision to be greedy. Gamespot - you have blown it this time!

"gamespot screwed up this time, pay 2 play a beta, screw that..sorry but betas arent that great, i should know i'm in the MAG beta and its okay, but could be better."
I guess that makes you a veteran tester!!! Yeah!
    ...
I've been in over 40 beta tests and 6 alphas, all of fairly large budget gaming companies, and not indie ones.
Sure tests aren't great but paying to be a subscriber and get in on these features is part and parcel of the whole deal. I never paid ofc but some people do. (They ask me to test because I am skilled and have several pcs to test on.)
So yeah, when you try a few more betas then you can say things like "i should know"
