Test Drive: Offroad 3 published by Infogrames, is an offroad racer that falls short of the rest of the pack. The gameplay is just plain frustaiting at best. The cars handle like the driver is on drugs. If you try to do the slightest turn the car slides and plowes into some crazy oncoming object, like a giant pumpkin or some random water puddle. Besides that the cars sometimes have trouble going on the track, for example they sometimes fall into the cliff when jumping over it. The game offers twenty seven different vehicles that all have different upgrades to improve the vehicle in various ways. Unfortunally, they do not offer weapons to blast your opponents in oblivion. To buy the weapons you need money. To get the money you need to finish in the top three in various races. The game starts you out in the third division and you work your way up to the top. Although, you would think that the vehicles would improve once you upgrade them, but this is false. The only reason that you would upgrade your car is to feel good inside. The only thing that htis game did right is the sound track. It features Blink 182 and Incubus. That is enough for me to give it a good sound rating. All in all this game doesn't even compete with the games that were released in its genre. I wouldn't even pick this game up if I found it in the bargin bin. Only fans of the series, who ever you are, should purchase this game, but only as a collectable.
