Despite its simplistic look, Terraria is an incredibly deep and fun game.

Gameplay: The gameplay in Terraria is based on exploration and discovery. You start off with a weak character, but you can become more powerful by exploring the world.
At first, it's likely that you won't know what to do, but the NPC guide can help a little. Once you figure out the basics, you realize that you have to build a house, which you start doing. You also have to build a house for your NPCs, and the more NPCs you have, the more houses you'll have to build. To recruit NPCs to your town you'll have to trigger a special event for a specific NPC. For example, to get the merchant, you have to have a certain amount of money.
The gameplay is based on exploration, so you'll be exploring when not building. The underground is an interesting place, because there are many things in it. From strong monsters to awesome treasures, you'll always find something.
You can also explore the skies in search of something, with similar results: finding special stuff and floating islands, so you better start building up too!
There's also a multiplayer mode, which, while not intuitive to use, is a lot of fun. You have to set up a server to play it, and you then can explore with your friends, build large cities, or even fight each others.
The game has some really innovative mechanics and lots of depth, which spawns in dozens of hours playing, and the experience is rewarding and worth it, especially in multiplayer.

Presentation: Terraria has a retro graphics feel to it. It doesn't look bad, and it suits the game well. The music is suiting and even good. When a boss spawns in the map, the music that appears makes you feel nervous. Most of the soundtrack is relaxing though, and that fits this game a lot.

Replay Value: There's infinite replayability within Terraria. There's just too much to do, so there's no way to say you've completed the game. Apart from that, there's often game updates, so new things are added to make the experience even less repetitive.

Fun: This game is really fun and rewarding. The most fun is in multiplayer, exploring with your friend is just an amazing feeling. Something that could be added is voice chat, but even with text chat, it's really fun to go multiplayer. The single player experience is fun too though. You can see your character grow and become stronger, which feels compelling. This is a very fun experience.

Overall: Terraria is just $10 and doesn't require incredible computers to be played. It's a must buy for any PC owner who wants a game to invest lots of hours.
