This is a method I have used to beat all the hardmode bosses but I'm sure you could use it on easier ones.
Okay so first, obviously you need to have good weapons and armor in order to not insta-die. You need good weapons because some of the bosses have time limits, for instance the hardmode bosses must be beaten before morning.
All you do is build a very long walkway to the left or right, maybe 50-100 tiles above the ground. Then at one end of it, build a little room where your nurse lives. Set your spawn point in this room and equip the Magic Mirror item (the only item really necessary for this to work).
Now just summon the boss near this room, and run away from the room as you fight the boss. Eventually when you reach the end of your walkway, or when you are hurt enough, just teleport back to this room and heal via the nurse. Leave the room immediately after you heal, as you don't want the boss reaching the room itself and killing the nurse.
This method pretty much gives you infinite healing while you are fighting the bosses.

Powered heart statues and buttons are a bit more efficient. Combine that with hellstone brick walkways and the cross accessory.

I've played for 100+ hours and only ever found a single heart statue. That said, I never specifically went looking for them. But still...

The hellstone platform method always seemed like cheating to me. :/

Isn't it much easier just do dodge their attacks and blast away with your megashark/phoenix blaster/demon bow?

I would love to see you beat any of the hard mode bosses with those weapons.

Defeating the hard mode bosses with the megashark isn't hard. :/

Phoenix Blaster and Demon Bow are a different story though.
Not sure why you'd even bother with those weapons seeing as you can pretty quickly get an adamantite repeater before beating a single boss.

You try to run away. But there's no escape! The enemy tries to run away. But there's no escape!

Megashark is the easy button of Terraria.
If one wants to use the Cross Necklace exploit....making a hellstone platform is a ton of work where a few stone blocks and some sand would suffice.

Or meteorite. Meteorite also works and by the time you reach the HM bosses you should have more than enough to make the platform

No the easy way is just to get the best armor available, and use potions.
