Not a Graphics Artist dream game, But as a Simer, this game is a dream come true.

good - Stats, Stats, and when you think your done, more stats. The inside edge system, is an attempt to actually use those stats to decide how to play each pitch to the batter. I haven't played enough to see if this same system affects the outcome of simmed games. The hit stick is a nice chage from the button mashers of old. Other games have tried this concept but this one hits the mark. GM mode, a nice feature that takes out all the stupid stuff like vendors and seating and focuses on the players. Trying to keep up with players moods and trading for players that would respect your manager and fit in your team, gives an added depth that hardcore fans would love. The announcing team of Joe Morgan and Jon Miller, although extremly unenthuised with the action on the feild at times, does a respectable job of giving the impression of a true baseball experience. I must note that not every pop fly has to be a chance to go yard like in other titles this year. That is refreshing, plus it's freaking Joe Morgan and Jon Miller and not some lamer like Rex Hudler?!? I'll take a hall of famer over a guy who couldn't figure out a position he could play any day.
bad - all the minor glitches. It gives the game a feeling that it was rushed to the shelves and didn't get the care it deserved. MLB the show came out sooner and had it shares of bugs, but the number here is saddly frustrating. I mean come on, was the starting date of real life baseball ever in doubt? It's usually at the end of march, first day in april. Maybe they need to hire a "stay on task person" like in high school groups. The guy instead of saying "we have 15 mins left in class lets get on track" the guy could say "Hey Fellas, you have a week left before the season starts, can you put down the pirated copy of tomb raider: Legends, and fix the stupid glitches."
the ugly - graphics. I will be honest the first time I played I didn't notice much that was wrong, (i only played for like 15 mins) Then I started reading on here how bad they were. I just got done playing for a couple of hours. Yikes!! Bases Loaded comes to mind, and not in a good way. This is the most sad attempt at under utlizing the qualities of a PS2 i've seen in a long time. It's almost like a version you would see on gameboy.
To sum it up, if you put a paper bag over this game this game won't let you down. At the heart of this game there are a lot of revolutionary qualities that will hopefully grow into something beautiful. But if your shallow and just want eye candy ( no offense) this isn't the game for you.
