Excellent combat everything else average.
There are some definitely amazing aspects to this game however its dragged down by some really mediocre aspects. I'll start with the positive.
First off the game is stunning to look at. Its got a very Asian art design almost like Aion which makes sense since the game is Korean. Every environment is breath taking to look at. I spent a lot of my time just looking at the locations and Art. The second and most supported reason to play this game is the combat system. The combat system in Tera is new and fresh to the MMO genre. Everything to-date has been tab an enemy, then click a spell on your keyboard/bind or mouse. The combat here is a full target system. It made my healing class actually so fun to play because I had to move around and target individuals and set AOE heals. I also tried the archer class and that was a ton of fun because you actually have to Aim your shots. In my opinion Teras combat is amazing and its one of the things that keep many people playing the game.
Now for more of the mediocre parts. To start this game really doesn't have a story or lore. Its actually really pathetic the limitation of this. Considering this game looks and plays amazingly I really felt I was grasping at stings to know more about this world and its lore. The questing is also very very boring. The game doesn't turn into a grind like Aion because theirs enough quests however the questing is boringggg. Its just kill X amount of things or collect X amount of that. The only thing keeping it fresh is that you get to kill monsters with the cool combat system however nothing else quest wise is new here. Also considering I have to read the quest and even the dialog is not that appealing. The character creation system isn't bad by any means but I would have liked more options such as height or the fact that your face also determines your hair.....like really. The crafting system is almost like what you would expect from any other MMO and its very easy to level up. The PVP is really fun and different in this game however its only world. To me this is unacceptable. I know there putting PVP or Q's later in the game but to have this type of content not in the release is mind-blowing. The instances or groups are fun but because its a new game the community isn't built up yet and in the later stages I found it hard to get into a decent group of people.
To conclude, Tera down the road when the community gets stronger and with the added PVP content is going to make for a good game. The game has a strong combat system that's fun to play supported by some amazing visuals(if you have the computer to do that). Tera however has zero story or lore and to me the questing is same old same old. The character customization and crafting is sub par and could be better. Overall Id say give this game a try because the combat is fun. If you want an interesting combat system that's different this might be the game for you. Just keep in mind everything else is average which is why I rated it a 7.5. I wanted to give this game more however to me combat can only go so far.
