Is crafting still pointless or did it get buffed?

I remember it used to be useless.
ALSO: Are there any character-bound crafts, IE: Can you get away with a single craft mule.

From what I can tell it's still pretty useless. The mats are way too expensive when you can just buy whatever end product you need for much cheaper.
Unless I'm just doing it wrong, then someone please feel free to enlighten me D:

Haven't played since late November so I may be outdated. When I was still on, they added back crafting quests on the bulletin board (with the guild quest and other stuff) which made crafting super easy to cap.
Getting to the actual answer... yes, crafting is useless in that almost all the weapons are pretty much useless especially considering you can cap super fast. No, in which the tier 14.5 weapons and armor actually need to be craft which is/was (as said I haven't played a minute) the strongest in the game although it take considerable time to collect the items (though the credit needed for a lot of the purchasable stuff were lessen).

What's a good single player farm class?
Leaning towards Lancer 'cuz BAM solo, but I bleh... it's probably faster to mob, in which case Slayer or Sorc would probably be better.
Hopping from point to point as quickly as possible, not sure what classes have in-combat move speed bonuses (when you can't mount)

Ok,
Best farmer excluding (if it was even a consideration) Berserker or Lancer. Gunna wait for Server Transfer to be available and don't want to double up classes on the same server.

I'm only on my 2nd day with a lancer but i was pulling 20 mobs at a time and mowing them down. Granted this was levels 14-18 but when you can do repeatable quests and have kills stored up for 10x turn ins and you can get those 120 kills it can make leveling go quiet a bit faster. Not to mention I find it rather fun seeing how many i can pull gather up in a small area and just destroy. Best done on low pop channels so people aren't stealing your mobs.

Okay, so what you're looking for is a class that would be effective in an area that forbids mounting (....group instances and flight landing areas only, afaik), because they can quickly jump from mob group to mob group?
That'd be a warrior.
-They have a dashing skill, which lets you move even faster than a mount for a short distance (20m)
-They have a teleport skill, which lets you instantly attack an enemy 15m away from behind.
While warriors can AoE farm (mounting, gathering 3+ groups of mobs to 1 point, cleaning), they receive quite a lot of damage during it.
As for Sorcerers...they're kinda bad at jumping from group to group (even if they can teleport, they'll run out of mana and cause a small bit of downtime), but they can annihilate large groups of enemies in 1 spell. However, that will be tough at lv40-47, as enemies start dealing more damage and auto-enrage+dash when you kite too much. At 48, that problem is eliminated because of Burst of Celerity+Glyph.
post-48, Sorcs might be the best AoE farming class due to how ridiculous Fireblast is when combined with Burst of Celerity.
But while leveling my warrior, it was obvious how much quicker and more fun they are at solo questing
