GameSpot's Maxwell McGee returns with a review for Tekken Tag Tournament 2
I've never found Tekken to be very difficult like it says in the review. Instead I've found it very easy to get into and hard to master. Completing arcade mode in tekken can be a breeze on normal with just a basic understanding of each character. However, if you start to spike up the difficulty, that's when you might want to start learning some of the smaller combos to help you get ahead.
TEKKEN peaked with tekken 2 which was awesome at the time i loved mastering kings multi throw combos and every fighter had a 10 hitter combo and a nice cgi ending movie
fighters in general now a days just try to offer too much like 40+ fighters how on earth you gonna get to grips with so many fighters i liked it back when it was more simple 10 or so fighters is more than enough, also why do you need so many modes? a simple arcade/online mode and a story mode is enough maby throw in a practice mode also
since tekken became multiplatform the game just died, everything tekken had to be a tekken are miss! this reminds me residen evil i dont know why
1 Like OMG it's like they listened to me. Arcade mode is actually now EASY. The Ranking screens have disappeared. Do the Tekken creators listen to their fans or what?? Awesome.

They gave TTT2 a high rating despite the fact that the glorious days of Tekken was already behind us. I miss the good old days of Tekken.
Hmmm, I didn't know "Tekken Tag Tournament 2" will be loaded with so many options: that's cool, for sure!

1 Like not a big fan of the co-up fighting system.But im still gonna get it, have all the other tekken games. And they are pretty fun to play. I bet this game is good. Got good score, and look pretty fun.

I find it harsh that some people are giving the game hate because it's difficult to be good at. All fighters have a pretty hardcore learning curve. Tekken's is slightly above a few others in terms of getting at a decent level. There are a lot of strong players in the Tekken community, and definitely more of them than other 3d fighting game communities I've been a part of. Anyway, once you put the effort in, it pays off. But I guess some people just don't have the will to be a try hard just to be decent.
@spiritwave I admire your tenacity for putting effort into mastering tekken and 3d fighting games in general, but I agree with frazzz619 in that they should make it a bit easier to make it accessible to new players and make them enjoy 3d fighting games
1 Like @spiritwave Some people enjoy Fighting Games just as much as tournament players even though they don't particularly want to memorize long combo chains & the like. I've seen this argument somewhere before but there should really be an 'Easy' mode that is actually somewhat easier. I know it's hard to grasp.

@frazzz619 What do you mean by Fight lab is broken and unplayable? EVERYTHING they teach u in it work , it must be you. Ranking screens plastered over everything? come on bro they just tell you your rank before the fight nothing to get mad about. So basically this game is not worthy of a 5 because you cant play it? you're denying that it has a tons of features , huge cast of characters and basically ur only criticism is that its too hard and other minor things that are not even a problem?
Still it looks better and has plenty of characters to chose from. Plus its Nam-co and they're fkng awesome. If i had any friends id buy this to play on with them, oh hang on i can play online, i know i only have a 2 bar connection. I think Namco need to release a patch to fix this, fan loyalty.
Looks like more fun than Tekken 6, so it should be worth it. I will save my money for DOA5, just because I know I like it more.
As for games that should've been in the PS3Store already: Last Blade 2.
These guys do remember what a review is right? Here's a hint. It's not reading all the cute features noted on the back of the box!
And I see every fighting game is getting with a tag mode now.
@Deadly_Nemesis They are trying to keep all beat em ups alive bu adding a tag system for depth and longevity. As you quite rightly pointed out, generic fighters use it everywhere now. Has the beat em up died ? is there another option like a more robust environment, instead of standing side by side, as with fatal fury did in the mega-drive days or DOA on the 360. A much more rich experience and creating more depth. I used to love tekken but sadly there was nothing else close to it when it arrived on the ps1, in my opinion a 15 quidder so when pals come round you can have a quick blast.
2 Like I find it funny that gamespot doesn't have not even one pro tekken player in their staff! that's just sad... it sucks to see them reviewing the game so poorly and showing off footage of their low skills for combos.

@SirenAries haha!! loving the rivalry!! normally i wouldn't disagree, however as a VF fan from the beginning having it on all machines (including the 32 x version) its a quality fighter, loved it in the arcades too!!! tekken brought combo moves and a fresh slower paced fighting style, that requires skill!! haha i will agree you need to be a pro player to play VF. wicked :)

1 Like Wonder if they will have endings this time around... used to enjoy the tekken endings when you finished climbing the ladder through a tournament in single player.
