Oh Tekken, you don't need silly costumes. You need to cut out those ¤%"#% juggling combos!

GameSpot's Jonathan Toyad speaks with the Tekken godfather about the new features and oddities of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for the upcoming Wii U console.
Arrgh, Link never had black hair, and whoever is taking his place looks about as awkward as a man playing a game with nothing but female characters.
if the WII U version is getting Nintendo cross over costumes, id wish they'd release console cross over costumes. like the xbox version would have halo, Gears of war, or even crackdown costumes. and the ps3 getting say uncharted, god of war, and even infamous costumes...maby dlc someday.....please someday...
Why is it every time they talk to this particular developer they seem to know less about the Wii U than the public do?
Not that I have ever been a fan of Tekken personally, I always thought it sucked, but its like they are deliberately trying to find all the drawbacks of developing on the platform rather than working on the positives.
Graphically from this video its looking pretty plain which is insane as even if the Wii U CPU is slower, it shouldn't impact the graphics as the GPU is more powerful and can have some of the stuff previously calculated by the CPU put onto the GPU (eg physics).
I know Harada was talking about the Wii U's CPU not being up to snuff recently. He also was talking about the Wii U's online saying he wasn't sure he even understood how it works.
http://www.digitalspy.com/gaming/news/a392539/wii-u-processing-speed-low-compared-to-360-ps3-says-tekken-producer.html (Harada talking about the Wii U's CPU is slow compared to PS360)
http://www.destructoid.com/tekken-producer-on-wii-u-online-i-don-t-understand-it--235263.phtml (Harada talking about Wii U's online not being understood)
I have two Wii U's reserved, and I'm getting it...but I'm not buying multiplatform games on it. I'm getting exclusive games for it like I did my N64, GC, and Wii. Games with online connectivity like Tekken, ME3, COD, and ACIII I'm avoiding on Wii as I'm not convinced Nintendo's network is up to snuff based on what Nintendo's President said "PSN and XBL are too far ahead" http://www.computerandvideogames.com/353614/iwata-xbox-live-and-psn-are-too-far-developed-for-nintendo-to-catch-up/#
Seriously though, the comment made right before the 1:00 mark is one of the reasons I'm excited about this system. My games are upfront, I sleep in the back. No longer will I be stuck with just GC games in my bedroom. Also, those of you that sleep with someone else have had this conversation at least once.....
(slowly walking up behind you) "Hey, I can't sleep, come lay down with me"
"But I'm playing a game."
"But I can't sleep" (possibly whining)
"Didn't you go to bed 2 hours ago?!?!" (you know, before I checked my email, watched the TV show I missed, made a snack, then started playing my game?"
"I know, and I was........"
This is where you talk for another 5 minutes, and you either give in, play for another 30 minutes and give in, or continue as if nothing happened knowing full well the next day is going to be spent listening to them mention how tired they are at any given moment. NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe 8 meters is the farthest you can be from the Wii U before the GamePad starts to not work properly.
I'm excited about the Wii U but not very enthusiastic about using that controller to play fighters. I use the two-finger method for Tekken on the gamepad and there's not enough space to get a good grip!
You can always get the Pro Controller. If anything, lay the GamePad on your lap :3
yeah that how Nintendo gets you , a $300 systems turn into $400 real quick with all the crap accessories you have to buy.
just stick with PS3/xbox better online better control
No, they said that they don't see themselves taking Zelda back to a traditional set up of just buttons. There is plenty they could do with the gamepad, etc.
Also, don't be an idiot and wail your arms around... most games work better with precision rather than force. I have sat down and played Skyward Sword for hours without being tired. You know why? Because I was palying it properly.
If you love Zelda, most likely you had a Wii since Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were both on it. Either way, it's not like it's expensive to get your hands on a WiiMotion plus and nunchuck if you know where to look .
Funny, I played Skyward Sword for hours and didn't get tired. Most of the best motion games on the Wii didn't even require you to wail you arms like an idiot, so you must be seriously out of shape if you get tired after 10 minutes, then again, I wouldn't blame you, always playing 360/PS3/PC online with no physical exercise, 10 minutes of any kind of physical motion would wear out anyone.
I believe I've already stated how great the 3DS's online is, so if Nintendo can do it well on their handhelds, why wouldn't it be even better on a console? Sure the Wii wasn't the most user friendly in terms of online, but the games that focused on online mulitplayer like MarioKart had excellent online.
I remember Nintendo saying that all Zelda games will now be motion controls (wii mote, nunchuck) , so any one who buys the Wii-u and does not owns a Wii would have to buy a Wii mote-nunchuck.
So there goes your theory out the window.
And Notice you only said controls not online. hmmm i wonder why?
And yes Ps3/360/pc have better controls, you don't get tired after 10 minutes of gameplay because of waling your arms like an idiot.
Who says we HAVE to buy accessories? I don't recall having to buy any accessories for my 3DS or the Wii (aside a nunchuck).
Also I don't see how a Sony and Microsoft systems have "better control" they're all pretty much the same, it's depends on the developers making the controls good.
I had the 360 version and it runs like crap. freezes sometimes and the online part is so laggy even with people with 5 bars. Might get the Wii U version if these problems are corrected.
I'm sure they will. :)
There have been quite a few developers who have said that the online infrastructure is quite good.
i am probably one of the few who actually plays Tekken for the story.. That being said, it is a nice thing to be able to play with all the characters that have passed trough the Tekken franchise but this is a mode that could pretty well have been implemetned on a regular Tekken, there was not much need to make a Spin-Of just for this (excluding the company itself who will make a few extra millions for it,).
On the subject of the video, meh it is a nice addition to the game it is optional so there is no harm but it is nothing impressive, the costumes are really ugly but it is not like they are asking more money for them so....
I've played Wii online with little to no issues. The only game I have had an issue with connecting to is Brawl... everything else seems to run with no problem. Anyway, the WiiU is going to have a much more solid infrastructure than the Wii... by a longshot.
So instead of making a VIta Version your work on this. (FIne what ever). Stop lying Harada, this is giong to be the best version of Tekken Tag 2. It is on next generation system and there already is a fun wii style fighting mode. Having all those cross over costumes already makes this look better than the xbox and Ps3 version. Please let us know what we got that was unique to our current systems. Zss \ Ganandorf O.O
The Mushroom battle concept sounds kinda cool...but i can see it getting old after an hour.
@Celsius765 Of course. Just like in Tekken 6 each character has many customizable apparel.
Why? Something wrong with having some silly fun? Or are you too grown up for that?
@meralonne BI no one is gonna use those costumes I'm betting.8U Power Stone might be a better fit for nintendo
@Celsius765 @meralonne You guys obviously haven't played tekken. TTT2 has been an addicting experience for me sorry bros but the only ones losing is you.
@Celsius765 It worked wonderfully in street fighter 4 and helps new comers understand the game and vets master the game.
@Celsius765 What do you think that that's would be default costume? You're just looking for reasons to bash on Nintendo and really stupid ones at that.
the nintendo characters look rediculous, especially mario/luigi and Zelda (she looks like a post op transvestite!). Link looked so much cooler when he was part of Soul Calibur then he is here. Way to make the Wii version WORSE through its rediculouslessness.
@SolanOcard you do know that the Tekken Characters are the ones wearing those costumes, they aren't actually the Nintendo characters you specified
