So as the title says, i need help, I got this game like 3 weeks ago and I i'm starting to get pretty frustrated at it for being so damn difficult. To be honest this is my first tekken game, and i thought because i was fairly decent in UMVC3 that i could get into this game. Well i was wrong and i'm starting to regret buying it. I want to get into this game it's just I haven't really learned anything from fighting others because i don't know what i'm doing. I've been training with my characters (which for me is just doing every move once or twice and never the combos). I was thinking of getting KOF instead of this because it looked easier, but I want to stick through this, so i'm asking for help and you can reach me on Xbox:Silverglow92 add me so we can spar.

    Team: Michelle, Dragunov

I'm not too good either. GT is in my sig. I strongly suggest watching the TeamSpooky streams on YouTube. There are the best players playing it.

Let's put it this way. Tekken has always been a game that is easy to pick up and hard to master.

Some beginner characters that you can start out with is Paul, Marshall Law, and Forest Law. Leo. Lili, Lars, Bryan, and Bob may also fall under this category, depending on your mileage.

If you don't want to use advanced characters just yet, don't pick Steve, Hwoarang, Baek, Yoshimitsu, or Zaina.

Practice, practice, practice... Everyone who is good at Tekken has more overall losses than wins. I've been playing since T2 and I had to take a lot beatings to get decent. This game is way easier than Virtua Fighter

I'll give you 1 tip that will quadruple your win rates right off the bat:

Learn how to wake up. Sometimes you just have to eat a lot of punishment before it's safe to get off the ground. This is way better than getting relaunched for another combo. Look up "oki" tutorials from T6 on youtube.

Early on your two best characters will make your strongest team. There's nothing wrong with Michelle and Dragonov. While your at it, play around with Jaycee. A lot of Michelle skills will carry over and you'll have a three character rotation.

Keep on practicing and you will get better. Go to Fight Lab & Survival Mode too. And keeping Michelle and Dragunov is fine. Its a nice balance between old and new characters. And Dragunov has some different moves that will change things up a bit in fights.

Bro check it out. This game is all about the grind. My fav is not my main at least not anymore. You have to feel each avatar out. Jin is awesome. But I can not use him well. Look your d man is a grappler. Most of his attacks are a bit slow. Leave vast openings. The attack power is brutal though. He has a decent kick grab and a two bb hit combo that is easy to pull off. He is a real sturdy powerhouse. I use to play him all the time. Sorry I know nothing about your other main.

I found it easy to pick up Lars. And Leo. I also found it fun to play as both kuni and raven. Lee or violet. Law is also really easy to pick up. I branched out and use like 8 different dudes. I went from Lars to raven in this addition of tekken.

Add me on Xbox. I'll show you what I know.

Jack is the easiest to learn and be competive with. Pair him with P Jack, and experiment with their combos.

Wait, what? Jack is slow and can easily be beaten to the punch. I havent used him much since tek 3 so that may be why Im not so great with him right now, but, I dont think Jack should be a jump off char for the tc.

also, tc, if you can find it cheap, get kof13 also. These are both great games in their own ways.

    Blasphemer.

Speed in this game is measured in frames. All characters have moves that can move at least at 10f or slower. The overall speed of a character depends on how you use such character, and what tools they have.

Jack-6 (and by extension, P. Jack) are easy characters to get into. Just by using them, you can learn the basics of the game real easy.

They have abusable-as-hell pokes (db+left punch).
LONG reach on their punches (definitely good for pokes).
Makes you learn to use side-step more (because they're big guys).
Good ground mix-up (if you're at the feet of a Jack, guess wrong and you'll get hurt)
    Good wall-mixup game (same here).
Does TONS of damage with minimal effort.
Easy juggle combos once you decide to learn some.
Don't have complicated stances to bother with.
Does TONS of damage with minimal effort.

and...not many people play with them. So...

Those reasons have nothing to do with getting into the character and learning their moves so much as just defeating the enemy as easily as possible. Also your last line is not by any means a legitimate reason for anybody, not just the tc, to use a character or tag team

    Funny.
My post was complete opposite of what you stated.

He wanted ease-of-use character, so I gave him the Pro's of using Jack, as both him and P. Jack are easy to do stuff with.

He's far from the only character that's easy getting into, though.
Heck, Dragunov is easy to use, as well (one of the characters TC listed as his current team).

Don't see many of Dragunov players around, either, so...
