I'm through with Namco, I'm through with Tekken, I'm disgusted that people who liked the previous games like this one.

When I heard Tekken 6 was coming out a few years ago I was over the moon. Tekken had always been the best fighting series. More fluid, and less clunky than soul calibur, better looking than mortal kombat, revolutionary in 3d, making me not think twice about going back to KOF, SF, or guilty gear, and with more characters you care about than Virtua fighter.

Unfortunately in a pathetic attempt to cram more guest characters into SC4 Namco decided to put out SC4 before Tekken to meet the release of The force unleashed (who's main character would be an unnecessary addition to the roster).

Tekken 5 was an incredible high point in the series for me, and while I thought the addition of Jinpachi as a character, and cheesy, cheap boss fight was unnecessary, I still held it in high regards over every other fighting game I played.

When my store announced the Tekken 6 fight pad bundle with artbook I jumped at the idea, and gladly paid 150$ to ensure myself a copy. Yet when I got home and turned on the game I was absolutely livid.

Tekken 6 is absolutely SUB PAR compared to the progressions the other tekkens made in the series. Move over Tekken 4 (which I actually didn't mind) a new disappointment has come to dethrone you. Here are the MANY problems with this game.

It's been an entire system gen, and years of development after Tekken 5, and yet the graphics have barely improved. I can look past that, because graphics aren't very important to me, but it was still shocking to see that a game that consistently had high end graphics could stoop so low.

The lack of simple story mode, which while simple was my favourite part of the game is disgusting. I shouldn't be forced to play a terrible scenario campaign to unlock items and my favourite characters endings. What the hell was Namco thinking?

The new characters are absolutely TERRIBLE. Bob?! He's not a rip off of Rufus from Street Fighter at all. Zafina? Who cares who she is, Lars who has the worst designed hair in ANY video game, and the others, who don't even deserve mention because they're so bland.

The boss. Okay, I know what you're thinking, this guy lost a bunch to the boss and now he's just bitter, but that's not the case. I breezed through the boss because essentially he played the EXACT same as Jinpachi. Cheap projectiles, which don't belong in Tekken in the first place, and stun moves are all he has in his arsenal, and on that note what a pathetic character design. He looks like a reject extra costume for Nightmare from SC. I can't believe he was even included in the game.

The addition of weapons, even though they're just in campaign mode is absolutely terrible. I can pick up a gattling gun an get a perfect on an enemy on hard just by shooting in a straight line, when the marred camera angle doesn't ruin everything. What's the point? That's the one thing that set Tekken apart from other titles, the lack of cheap projectile attacks.

All in all this is an absolute disappointment, especially after the amount of time Namco had to refine the game after SC4.

I'm going back to Tekken Tag.
