Very, very addictive too
Gameplay (10): Its very good playing the old style, but for me, it took some getting use to, because Tekken 4 was my first PS2 game and i occasionally play it now and then. But now its natural. The gameplay is solid. There is also awesome new moves and characters. Nearly every character is here!
There's also a "replacement" for Tekken force mode. Its like an action platformer. You can jump, transform and all that. Its called "Devil Within" and you play as Jin, ONLY. Good thing is, it gets you a special character without battling 200 matches. But the camera pisses me off and this game is repetitive. You can move the camera but it like doesn't follow you... I really can't explain it but... like when an enemy is behing you you can't see him coming. If you can though and you are already doing a combo to someone then you can't go to the other person you have to continue the combo. But I played more now and I got that special character without playing this anymore, 200 matches isn't too hard, nearly 10 hours of playing
You can also buy clothes and accecories. You get money by play various modes.
History Arcade! Tekken 1, 2 and 3 arcade modes are avaiable to play! Its so fun to play games that made the Tekken series so popular.
Graphics(9): Ok i have NO clue why gamespot gave it a perfect mark. Tekken 4's graphics aren't close to this, I know but atleast they made the gameplay characters look like there CG self. Jin face is completely different to his CG self. Christie doesn't look at all like her CG self. It could take a hell of a while to get use to this, i still haven't and i played just over 10 hours.
Speaking about CG, it looks SO realistic. Way better than Tekken 4. If you looked at Tekken 4 character's ears, you'll see they are stuffed, in this that is fixed, everything is so real! Some of the Epilogues of characters are very short, and boring, but others are funny, short and entertaining. But one thing though Kazayua is evil! His movie made me happy but it was very harsh, see it for yourself. But Laws, like always it is funny!
Sound(9): ... ... First I'll start on voices... EVERYONE'S VOICES ARE STUFFED! Well nearly everyone. Steve... I liked his other voice, but now, he has the stereotypical British voice. Lee. He speaks Japanese now! His opening is sometimes "Come on" but he says it like : "Camoo". What happened? Christie's voice sucks too. I also liked Hwoarangs English but he speaks Korean! And the thing is when 2 people have a conversation, they understand each other. Jin is speaking Japanese and Hwoarang is speaking Korean and they are talking, and understanding eachother. Same as the new dude Raven (speaks English) and Kazuya. WTF is going on?
The background Music on the other hand is better and nice. And voice acting is executed really great
Value: If you are a hardcore gamer like me, you will unlock all the characters pretty easily, but you will Need one more which you can get by finishing Devil Within. Devil Within could take a while too finish though, then you can try to get every costume and contiously play with your firends, it'l last a good while.
