Does this remake stand up to the first game.
Story: Here comes to a fighting game for the story, but anyway, After the fourth tournament, Heihachi and his son are fighting Jaks. When Heihachi son throw him against the jaks. He leaves and Heihachi is left to defend for himself. Months after that, tekken 5 tournament beings. The story is great for a fighting game but overall, if your coming here for the story, don't expect much here.
Game play:
The game play has been upgraded from tekken 5. Most of the characters like Steve and Nina don't rule the area anymore. In this game, sadly, there is only arcade mode, ghost mode and VS mode. Arcade mode, you fight through nine fighters to get money and earn better ranks. Ghost mode is about the same as arcade mode expect the ghost might sometimes be people who had played the game and got a great rank. Vs mode is your normal 2 player mode. The rank part of the game is the main part of tekken 5 Dark Resurrection and is great to keep you playing and earning new clothes. Overall, there is not as many modes as the tekken 5 but tekken 5 DR is still great.
Sound: This is an alright part of tekken. It not the best music in the world but it can hold up it own and it great to listen to while your beating up your friend. Great sound but not the best tekken soundtrack.
Control: Perfect, the slowdown from tekken 5 has been fix. Slick, smooth and they have never been better. You will have a more funner time playing this game than tekken 5. Graphics: It not the best game when it comes to graphic but if you have an HD TV and 1080P then you will be able to see some of the playstation 3 real power but sometimes it feels more like ps2.5 then ps3. Great Graphics but some ps3 are better.
Extras and replay: The extra for this game is two new characters and one returning character. Different types and of stages and you can still get the older ones from tekken 5. Overall here, good extra but there could have been so much more.
In the end, if you have the psp version of this game, don't even buy this game unless you want to play it in 1080P. If you have the ps2 version or do not have tekken 5 at all, then download this and have fun with this new great tekken.
