Tekken 4 is the most underrated game in the franchise.

User Rating: 8 | Tekken 4 PS2

Tekken 4 is the fourth main entry in the Tekken franchise. Released in 2001 on Arcades and in 2002 on the Playstation 2, Tekken 4 marks the series' first attempt at bringing the series back to its roots. Having been a year after Tekken Tag Tournament, it may not reach the reception of its predecessor, but it remains of the better fighting games in the last decade.

The fighting system returns to its 1-on-1 roots, but it's much smoother than the first three games. It removed and added new gameplay features which at the time of its release, divided both fans and gamers alike. One of the newest additions was the interactive enviroments and walled arenas, which was a new feature in the series.

Some of the iconic characters in the franchise, such as Anna Williams and Jack, are missing in this installment and there are new characters that introduced in the franchise, such as Christie Montiero, Steve Fox and Craig Marduck. The new characters are welcome addition to the franchise and each of them bring a unique set of fighting styles.

I know that Tekken 4 got a lot of flack when this was released, but to me, this is a game that dosen't get appreciated enough by the fans. Tekken 4 is an underrated fighting game and marked a changing point in the fighting game genre. I'll give it an 8.4 out of 10.
