The Best Playstation Fighter Ever Made...No Question

User Rating: 10 | Tekken 3 (PlayStation the Best) PS
The original Tekken took everyone by suprise. Not only was it one of the best 3D fighters to be released at the time (and the best looking at the time), it was more accesible than than the Virtua Fighter games. Tekken 2 produced a much greater effect, and immediately established Tekken as one of the best fighters ever. Everyone was waiting for Namco to release a game that would be as good as Tekken 1 and 2 combined. And when Tekken 3 was released, not only was it better than Tekken 1 and 2, it became one of the greatest games ever made. What made it soo good? I can think of 3 Factors why. Firstly, the game is one of the best presented and playable games, and has the best pace for a fighter. Secondly, it became the basis of the first ever PS2 fighter, Tekken Tag Tournament. And Thirdly, the home conversion rises above and beyond the norm, and is something completely different. Apart from having the normal modes seen in most fighters, like arcade, time attack etc. Tekken 3 included three previously unseen special modes and three characters exclusive to the Playstation version of the game. These modes are Tekken Force, which is a side-scrolling beat 'em up, playable by every character in the game. Tekken Ball, a volleyball-esque game, made into a sort of fighter, and Theater, which not only allows view character endings, but endings and music from Tekkens 1 and 2! Tekken is your standard fighting game, which can be either good or bad, depending on how much you like fighting games. The game is fast paced, and it works really well. Also, most known Martial-Arts are used in this game, like Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Karate and more. Tekken doesn't rely on a special bar, so all you need to focus on is your attacks and counterattacks. Finally, like all great fighters, the game is a blast to play with friends. Graphically, the game is beautiful. Along with the fast-paced action, the game never stops for a second. Easily the best looking fighter on the Playstation. Trust me, until you see this game, you'll see no other great looking games on the old Playstation. The sound of the game is also great. The game features two soundtracks, the arcade (i.e the music used in the arcade version of Tekken 3) and a arrange version (music exclusive to this version). There isn't any voice-acting, but the sounds do suffice, and the addition of being able to hear tunes from Tekkens 1 and 2 add more depth. So what more can I say about a game that has a reputation like this one? Well, if you haven't ever had the chance to play it (or Tag Tournament), then I suggest that you stop reading, and find a version of the game and play it. Not only is it the best Playstation fighter, but one of the best games you'll ever play. 10 out of 10, Perfect...
