You no rikey ??

User Rating: 8 | Tecmo Super NBA Basketball SNES
I almost didn't get this game because of the horrible reviews people have given it. Thank my god-ness that I went out on a 4-dollar limb, because this is a super fun NBA game with all the old legends. It's the glory years of the NBA, and the glory years of gaming if you ask me. This game is truly classic: Magic, Bird, and JORDAN... enough said. It's also got Barkley, David Robinson, Stockton, Clyde the Glide, the Mail Man, The Glove, and The 'Human Highlight Reel' too. (Anybody?)

If you compare the mechanics to today's games it doesn't stack up, but this game was made in 1993, and it's every bit as fun as Tecmo Bowl. Believe me, I would tell you until I'm blue in the face if it sucked, but it most assuredly does not. I can't believe how bad the reviews are compared to how fun it is. This game kicks some major old-school ass.

The good: It's just a simple, addictive, old-school NBA classic with all the legends that made the sport what it is today. The game play is really fun and the computer is not too easy to beat. It will challenge you. I'm also a fan of the in-game cut scenes on blocks, dunks and 3-pters. If you like Tecmo Bowl, you cannot go wrong with Tecmo Super NBA. Also, really cool dunks on this game. They are smooth and look realistic and cool.

The bad: 3-pters are kind of hard to make (only about 10% - 15% go in), and there is no turbo, and no way to pump fake. Also, when the player catches the ball he automatically starts dribbling no matter what. Overly simplistic. All players look the same other than height and race.

Overall score: 8.1 for being above all FUN. The greatest legends of all-time are in this game. If you have any old-school NBA bone in your body, you'll see it the same way.
