A Decade later TFC still rocks.

User Rating: 10 | Team Fortress Classic PC
It was 1999 when I was first introduced to TFC. my best friend started playing and I just watched. He went on and some how it didn't get boring for hours, I wasn't even PLAYING. Since then we've all been into modding it, my favorite mod being Soul-Jah's Cell-shaded models. I never did get nearly as good as my friends, with their skills at rocket and conc jumping, but it was fun to be there to help out. This was my first online multiplayer experience and for that reason I will probably always hold it in the highest regard. Other FPS have been fun, several have even well surpassed TFC, but here we are 10 years later and I still play this and keep this at the top of my list.
I wasn't a big fan of TF2's style in reinventing the game with a much more cartoon goofy tone, but I did like what they did with my favorite class [Pyro]. Pyro was useless in TFC. He'd burn himself to death and not do a lot of damage, but I'd always play a pyro for some reason, I do miss the incendiary rockets which didn't make it over to TF2. Otherwise I was probably a medic, Sniper's might remember me, I'd be the guy ducking under cover and healing your feet while you wait for that perfect shot. I had my time playing as every class but those 2 got the heaviest use over the years. Sometimes when I was bored it was fun even to just log in and find someone who was really awesome at exploiting all the bugs in the game, and just spectate. If your new to team fortress altogether chances are better the good you'll prefer Team Fortress 2, as this version is VERY buggy, and the graphics are well dated. However for nostalgia's sake I must say this is my pick for best Online FPS ever.
