One of the best in the Vs. Series, Capcom delivers!

User Rating: 9.5 | Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars WII
Before we get started, many have pondered what the hell Tatsunoko is. Tatsunoko is a Japanese animation company that was founded in the 1960's, 1962 to be exact. It was one of the first to pioneer in the anime industry. One of their most successful animated series was Hiroshi Sasagawa's Speed Racer in 1967. A more well-known anime that Tatsunoko worked on was Neon Genesis Evangelion. They worked on the animation for that anime series. Now that you know a little bit more from what we are dealing with, let's get started!

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is, I believe, one of the best in the series. If you are familiar with Marvel Vs. Capcom, then you have no excuse to pass this up.

Let's take a look at the Gameplay. It is what you have come to expect from a fighting game, but much more. Capcom offered us what we know about their fighting games. You have your combos, your air combos, your special attacks, your hyper specials, but they also implemented something called the Baroque Combo which deepens the combo system a little bit more. The gameplay is smooth and I never experienced any drops in FPS. This is where the core of the game is, and it doesn't disappoint.

Now, what about the graphics? Superb. The 3D graphics is greatly complimented with cel-shading, which have been quite popular this time around. Something like this in the Wii blows my mind, probably because there are only a few games with this kind of style of graphics. The problem that worried me about this was that the graphics might drop the FPS, causing it to lag. Fortunately, I have not experienced any lag at all.

Multiplayer? Well, you can grab some friends and bash it out, or take it online. Fighting games are always great with friends and it's great online as well. Although, if you are going online with this, then I suggest you prepare yourself to get your butt whooped because there are some serious pros online. But nevertheless, it's fun. There is a bonus minigame included called The Ultimate All-Shooters, which plays a lot like a retro style shooter from Capcom's earlier games. It features 4 Co-op and it's fun if you just want to step away from fighting for awhile.

Ah yes, the music. Once you listen to that opening theme with that impressive intro, I was hooked. Voice work is impressive, music fits well in different stages, and overall, it's great.

Now, what draws people back from this game is the unknown roster, but once you start playing this game, it won't matter. The Tatsunoko characters are extremely likeable and something as silly as an unknown roster shouldn't be looked upon to hard.

In conclusion, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom is a great welcome to your library. The unknown roster holds people back, but again, it does not matter as the game itself is fun and will have you coming back for more and more. Something that we thought would never have come to NA is finally here, and it does not disappoint. Capcom delivers, and it is great.
