Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus is somewhat okay for the most part, but generally seems very shallow and short.

Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus has a great game in it, and has a great story, but this game just feels very shallow in gameplay and gameplay itself. You definitly cannot compare this game towards the Dead or Alive series nor the famous Mortal Kombat series, but it sure comes very close. To start this off, let me just say the graphics are impressive. The animations are okay and the details from the characters and environment are excellent, but if only the gameplay were just as good, then there wont be any problems.Tao Feng feels like its fighting system isn't complete and feels like its missing something. And for the most part, there aren't many moves to fight with for each character you play as.Each character has a special move though, called the Chi, which is a meter you have to fill first then unleash its bone-crushing devestation, which I thought was a great add on, and without that, this game would have been very, very boring, and each character has three unique ones.Though there is one gameplay mode that this game features that is okay to play and that will keep you busy.....thats not for long...and this is known as the quest mode.It goes down like this:You pick a character and collect six pieces from either the good: The Pale Lotus or the bad: The Black Mantis, and there are six opponents that each have one piece of the treasures you are supposed to collect. It gets and feels very, very repetitive though the quest tells a great story and biography for each character. And I applaud that part because I think a game isn't good without a decent story. Also, the unlockables in this game just suck, theres just three:a character which isn't all that great, and two arenas to play in,thats it!As for the sound, it has its good and bad parts. The gameplay sound sucks, such as your opponents breaking through environmental objects and your opponent hitting the floor and slamming you, but the game's voice overs are excellent and are well done! But you won't find this game that stunning or fun for that long.Once you complete this game's quest, theres no use in going back into it.Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus is somewhat okay for the most part, but generally seems very shallow and short.Trying playing this with a friend when your bored or completely done with, thats probably the best part of the game, sadly enough.
