Another WoW clone that actually pulls it off well for a free-to-play still in beta testing.

For those that have read 'professional' reviews on this game, please consider this one as well, simply because I don't play games and critique them for a living.

Talisman Online - to most, another WoW clone.
Don't let this put you off. It being a WoW clone actually gives a sense of familiarity, so players will most likely feel comfortable playing TO.
Of course, there are some key differences that will be discussed.

The Story
------------------
Ah, yes, the story. A dreadful area where 90% of all free-to-play MMO's fail dismally. Unfortunately, TO is no exception to this awful rule. The story is weak and badly woven into the first few quests, and those quests only - the story all but vanishes in the later quests. This doesn't really bother me personally, as I'm used to a lack of storyline in MMO's, but a good story does suck me into the game a bit more.

Questing
-----------------
Let's delve a bit more into the questing aspect of TO. To those who like to spend long hours doing quests, please stay away from this game. The quests are generally one of two types - grinding, or collecting stuff. Every time I log on, I find myself doing a quest or two before logging off. I like this system, as it attracts casual gamers like myself, but people who take their games seriously, stay away for your sake.

Graphics
---------------
For such a small client (around 600MB) this game has pretty decent graphics. The 3D isn't exactly what I'd call rich, but it's definitely well-detailed. Unfortunately, the camera isn't positioned behind your character, but rather at a strangely wonky angle that can be slightly frustrating sometimes.
Effects are kept pure and simple, with minimal flashiness. Again, this doesn't bother me. Its one of the only 3D games I've managed to play smoothly on my tiny netbook (Asus Eee PC 1000H), so I'm content.

Gameplay
----------------
Character customisation; not a lot of it. You start out by picking one of a few classes - Tamer, Monk, Assassin, Fairy and Wizard. In the end, though, all of them fit into either Melee or Caster.
After I created my character, within ten minutes, I had already found my clone. This kind of disappointed me, as I like my avatar to be unique.
Gameplay; point-and-click. Considering the slightly bird's-eye view of the game, the movement runs fairly smoothly. Click a spot to move to it, hold the left mouse button for three seconds and you have auto-run. Right click for actions, and hotkeys for skills. You've all seen it before, and this simplicity is what I enjoy about the game - not too much to worry about.

Dialogue and Music
------------------------------
Dialogue; it is a foreign game, so don't expect too much in terms of translation. In fact, the translation is absolutely appalling in this game. I'm going to be nice, though, and hope that this will be fixed in a later update.
I suppose I can fit player communication in here - in that department, it works very well. Enough said.
In terms of music, it is enjoyable, but lacking. And by lacking, I mean that it isn't playing all the time. It will stop playing once you enter a battle, and then start playing again, startling you sometimes.

Conclusions
-------------------
Whilst I enjoy a little grind now and then, more serious gamers should stay far away. Its features, or possibly lack thereof, prevent it from being groundbreaking, I would probably suggest this to all players as a game to play in between games. A WoW clone? Yes. Poor man's WoW. Well, I'll let you decide.
