Not to fan any flames, but you people are nuts. :-) Xillia 2 is an incredibly boring rehash of Xillia, with barely any new content. It has *one* real new dungeon that is actually fun (the canyon ruins). Xillia 2's battles are more fun than Xillia, but still worse than Graces.
Xillia 2's plot is thin, the quests are generic, and everything is recycled. Xillia 1's plot was lame, and everything was rushed. Both game are terrible. :-)
(At least Milla is sexy though. :-)
Whoa, we got a badass over here.
Milla and Jude, how will you both respond?

I LOVE Xillia, but I do agree on nearly every level that Xillia 2 is vastly improved from the first, especially how I--I mean Jude, changed.

Now, all we need is Alvin to complete the deal
Alvin did.
He doesn't betray, is loyal to his friends, and follows a kind heart with his snarkiness he had at times in Xillia 1. You can see how much he's changed in his character episodes when he's flat out disgusted with meeting his Alt . The very alt that almost kills Alt Presa with little regret.
Don't forget dat beard to.

i would NEVER bash Xillia or Xillia 2! Simply that I understand the improvements of Xillia 2 over 1, and that I find it to be better.

Xillia 2 had short story, but It's actually amazing for JRPG standards, been quite a while since I went a bit emo on a game, dat true ending :/...
Xillia 1 was more memorable because 1 year later we still had It fresh on our memories and Xillia 2 was out. When we saw the recycled places we didn't go, "zomg nostalgia", we went "holy crap, 99% of dis is recycled D:".
While most of this is a matter of opinion, I'd say the battle system isn't. I mean, you just have to admit that bosses being easily being able to break out of combos was stupid, the game became a spamfest. - Feb 1, 2013 10:24 pm GMTFrom: Innerscope | #026

Eh...I try to add the character episodes as a part of the story to, and plent more depth to itself.
And even with things getting recycled, it's still the best Tales game i've played right next to Rebirth.

Graces having a better battle system is up to opinion, I find that Graces is one of the more dull and slow systems in the series.
Compare a Sophie Combo Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYLagiQ_xNA
To a Leia combo video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvAjf9w0Jt0
The only character in Graces who has combos that are fairly interesting is Hubert (His are actually pretty badass)
and even with that None of them can even come anywhere close to Ludger:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X6fXbY0TtM
And you say Xillia 2 has a thin plot and the quests are Generic...
Graces does all of these worse, Graces has one of the worst plots I've seen in a Tales game and almost every quest in Graces comes down to: Get item>Bring Item to inn>and there will OCCASIONALLY be a small scene after.
And the cameo battle too, Graces has the least memorable battles in the series, Solomus was easy, the Cameo battle was a Joke, the only memorable part of the Fodra Queen fight was Blue Earth, hell, the only fight in the game that was even slightly difficult on chaos was Lambda Theos and even then it wasn't legitimate difficulty, it was just based on whether he decided to spam shooting stars or not.

Wait...isn't that a bit too much? As a fan of both game there are no way the battle in Graces could be slower then Xillia 2. Plus that's Omegaevolution's video...
If Graces was slow and dull I can't image myself playing the rest of the rest of the series except Destiny R.

[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[|||||||||||||]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]] - Feb 2, 2013 5:47 pm GMTAs a Tales of fan, one should never look to bash another entry in the series just to make their own favorite look better. They all have importance within the series. Even with my dislike of Abyss, I know it did a lot of things right for people who aren't me.
Also, ha at Graces f having a slow and dull battle system. :/

I'll give you that one, Xillia 1 and 2 both had horrible final dungeons.
Xillia's sucked because it was a long boring Hallway.
Xillia 2's sucked because it was fake length (Luck based)

I don't really get why so many people hated Kurt, I read about him and when I got to him a was like: "Oh **** this is gonna be hard" and I was dissapointed at how easy he was (I was wondering if there was a second fight with him later in the game at first)
I forgot about Enter the Dragons, granted that is pretty difficult (Probably the most fun I had with a battle in that game.)

I'm not bashing Graces, I like the game very much; more than Vesperia even (Well... Vesperia 360 anyway) I just don't understand why it gets so much praise, the battle system is one of the slowest imho I think Symphonia, is a bit slower (Because the Arte levels get repetitive, as well as the original versions of Phantasia and Destiny (because of that stupid "Spell Animations Freezing Battles" thing)
I don't find that CC speeds up gameplay (Maybe Graces utilized it poorly and Destiny R does better) I find that it does nothing but slow it down (Being able to link any artes together is nice, but the fact that basic attacks went in Trees and costed 10 CC to use a simple combo isn't something I like) I wasn't a big fan of how broken evade was and how easy it was to manipulate.
I looked at Destiny R gameplay... Damn, that looks badass, looking at CC there next to Graces is like watching a superman wrestle against a wet napkin, (I wish I was able to play it)
And Graces DID have a fairly poor story (I did make it sound to be worse than it is,) but it is one of the poorer entries if going by story alone. (And he said Xillia 2 had a "thin plot" and "generic sidequests" when he went on to praise Graces; ignoring its flaws completely.
Again, I don't understand why Graces' battle system gets so much praise. Maybe it's because it's the first Localized game that uses CC, maybe because it's the first game localized in a while, who knows, I like the game plenty and I don't mind if others <333333333333 it, but I do think it does get more praise than it deserves.

"Wherever I may live, I remain the same person. Nothing will change." - Milla Maxwell. - Feb 2, 2013 11:06 pm GMTGraces is almost as fast as Destiny R >_>
And Graces CC is more balance then Destiny to begin with. 15CC is already insane broken in Destiny.
Saying Graces is slow is pretty much mean Xillia battle is fast as walking turtle.
The only actual "slow" in Graces is your characters normal movement speed. Most likely just to balance with sidestep/backstep/critical guard which is faster to move but cost CC.

I'm sorry, but I don't find it fast. The CC total being higher means it takes longer to recharge so I spend more time standing around waiting for it to recharge (Even at end game)
I do like it's multiplayer (And it's probably the most fun in the series if you get 4 competent people together to play multiplayer)

I think I get it now. well, technically you don't have to wait it go full charge, I prefer to start attacking when CC goes about 15. That should be enough to do a chunk of damage on enemy.
The other thing you may think Xillia is faster that because of AC system is almost instant recover. Which make me wonder why it's even exist in the first place.
