I played Tales of Symphonia when it first came out and fell in love with the whole "Tales of Series", so i decided to buy Tales of Phantasia for my SNES. This game was so much more than i expected it to be. It has a huge story that starts out with you being a character, Crest, then you go through the whole save the world sequence. But with this game, the graphics are wonderful, for a SNES game, and the whole story plot is huge! You can play from 5 characters, 6 in the GBA version, and each character has it's own special talent, magic, bow, sword, summoning, etc... But as you learn more about the game it really becomes so much more then just the old save the world kinda thing. This was one of the first games that many people, back in 1995, had seen that had sidequests. When doing sidequests, you can find so much more in a game like this because you'll find that there are a lot of things that you can find, like new weapons and spells. The only thing i don't like about this game is that when you play as Arche Klaine, you have to find and buy your own spells. For me, playing as a magic user in all games is a must, so instinctively, i played as Arche Klaine, but in one part of the game, i only had really weak spells and had to back track until i found some better, decent spells that i could use. Other than that fact though, i think this game is amazing and if you ever see it and want a good old school RPG then pick this up and i swear to you that you won't have any regrets about this.
