A good solid plot, and a RPG where battles never grow old.

"Tales of Legendia" started of as a unique, but on the same lines pretty cliche' "play a hero, save the girl" kinda plot. But low and behold I was mistaken to judge based of assumptions. The game turned out to be a very engaging and I found myself hooked after the first night. the game had kept a good balance between cinematics and cut-scenes and the battles. And it's just straight up addicting. But there were other parts of the game I felt were a bit lacking.
In my own personal opinion Tales of Legendia has successfully kept up with it's Predecessor "Symphonia" on the Cube. The overall gameplay was good, but I wish the game would have allowed more freedom considering it's a "real time" battle system. For example you can't direct your attack, the game does it for you. All you can do is run back or forward and press X to attack or square to block. However all things considered the battles are fun and exciting and leave you wanting more.
The Graphics have a cartoon feel to them but come out great. Although I feel more improvement could have been made with the backgrounds at least. What I found to be a treat though where the rare but beautifully hand-drawn cinematics the game supported. It was a good idea to flow with the overall animation. Graphics: 8
Sound is an important part of a game to me, and Tales came through. The sound was very good overall and the voice overs were very well done. the BGM's where not corny by any means, and fit the right moods of the game at the right time. However in battles the main character says the same freaking thing after every X,X,X attack combo. This got very annoying.

Well I'm cutting this one short. You're going to like this game, that's a given. And where the game is not the best it sure is great. If you like RPG's give this game a go. but if your new to the genre rent it first. The first one was great, this one was nothing less than. Hopefully we'll see a third in the years to come.
