@Wistful_Dread Know that i'm not getting upset, but what do my grammar skills have to do with the argument? True, the Wheel of Fortune thing is a little bland, but I don't think you can completely bash SE on the sole fact that you dislike the FF series (or the more recent games anyways, but know that I agree too that 11 and 14 are crap). And anyways, I think they have the original dev team (or at least the genius that was behind the original game) working on this remake. The point is, I simply don't think this will be a bad game. I thank you for the advice though ("poor grammar only hurts yourself"), we've always gotta learn from our mistakes :).

@Vrygar777 I'll give you the models point. SE games are so bland and cookie-cutter they tend to run together in my memory. But the wheel of fate is nothing more than a fancy name for the very system you compared it to. I even remember some of the questions from previous games. The new death system is little more than pandering to incompetence. Lodis had it right with making a casualty not saved before a battle ends be a total loss. Allowing other characters to pilfer gear and stats from dead friendlies is a little psychopathic. Also seems to be like rewarding failure. SE has made it clear with FF14 that they are incapable of improvement. FF11 was a horrible experience, and I haven't played a SE since. Knowing that, consider how FF14 (it's effective successor) has worse than HALF the critic score, being charitable. And finally, pay attention to your English teacher. "There" means a location that is not here. "They're" is for "they are" and "Their" is the possessive form of "they". Don't mean to be harsh about this, but poor grammar only hurts yourself.

@Wistful_Dread There weren't any character models from Final Fantasy Tactics shown in this trailer. Where you heard that I don't know. And as for innovation, the whole "Wheel of Fate" thing sounds fairly innovative to me, it wasn't present in the original game(unless you count the thing that determined your elemental affinity at the begining). Theres even a new twist to the whole death system. Each character can die 3 times (three hearts under the portrait) and once they die the third, there gone for good. But here's the catch: somehow there stats and stuff are inherited to other characters. SE has released a lot of crap recently, but this rerelease will probably be really, really good.

I was impressed. Until I saw that they had decided to mix character models from Ogre Battle and Final Fantasy Tactics. None even slightly reworked and polished. Like everything Square has done since the merger, expect no innovation or quality. It will be all flash and no substance. Boo SE!

Wow Tactics Ogre looks great :) It's hard to explain, but I really miss those "homey" RPGs that just suck you into another world. I really hope to see more of this and a release date for the USA in the near future.

@ Gelugon_baat After i commented I decided to do some looking of my own, check out wikipedia they have a pretty good description of the series and they explain the name. It's a reference to one of Queen's songs.

@Gelugon_baat Tactics Ogre refers to the series started on SNES Ogre battle: March Of The Black Queen. Tactics comes loosely from Final Fantasy Tactics. It's a gameplay type where you command a squad of soldiers in turn based strategy battle. Strategy and tactics in these types of games come in to play because you have to consider elevation and structures, if you are attacking from behind and from higher elevation you gain the advantage however if you attack from the front at lower elevation your enemy has the advantage. It's not enough just to tank your way through, you gotta think a little more. Tactics Ogre is a good series, I just wish they'd slap one on consoles again sometime.

YES!!! I will buy a psp just for this. Tactics Ogre, hands down is the best turn-based strategy game ever!! Much better than FFT, which has me worried that SquareEnix might screw this up. The story of the original was awesome. I just hope they keep it the same, with just more stuff. Awesome news either way.

@Shadow_Fire41 They weren't character elements in Knight of Lodis ... although I wished they were.

Shadow_Fire41

also hoping for virtue and bane to be character elements in this like the other 4 are.

let's hope this isn't Square Enix's only revisit to the series, maybe another ogre battle (i hope so)

@EchoEcho Yeah I know, but the way SE is remaking it, I think it looks a little better than before. I've played the original(I won't say how) and to be honest, there wasn't all that much variation between classes except subtle changes. But the basic premise of the game, the different endings and great storyline, those are all owed to Quest. Lets just thank SE for giving people a chance to play a great RPG that a lot of people missed out on the first time :).

@Vrygar777 -- You do realize that Square-Enix didn't make this game, right? Quest are the original developers and deserve the praise for this game being a masterpiece. Kudos to S-E for rereleasing it on the PSP, though. I would love to play it again, but no longer have my original PS1 disc. Tactics Ogre remains my favorite Tactical RPG of yesteryear. Always did enjoy it more than Final Fantasy Tactics -- which wasn't a bad game either, if derivative, being helmed by the same lead designer. I was (and am) constantly disappointed by the fact that so many people I know who enjoyed FFT have never tried TO.

Good God, Square-Enix has done it! They've made another masterpiece, I can already see it!

Oh man, seeing that brought back such good memories of playing Ogre Battle on the Snes! How I adored that game, and how I loved FFTactics as well! I never played Tactics Ogre but I'm really looking forward to this updated version! The Ogre series is so under-appreciated! Matsuno, I love you!

Great to finally see an Ogre game come out, they need to make a new one though.
