First of all, you need the original game and both expansions (Born of blood and A murder of Crows) to play this. The game does not add anything revolutionary but it does add some really interesting technologies such as the rail gun and It includes 3 scenarios which are really the same scenario but in sizes small, medium and large. The game also appears to have acted as what would appear to be a final patch, fixing up some bugs, adding to the interface, and adding a bit more in the way of AI. The multiplayer is fun and there is often a good group of people playing many types of games. The new tech works great with multiplayer as it gets rid of some of the unbalanced parts of the ship design.Though this expansion is rather small, but yet it adds more than it would first appear. I personally would say it is worth the $9.00 If you have the other sword of the stars games buy this from Gamersgate,Direct2drive or the like as it won't be sold in stores
