The first series was fun, but got rather boring in endgame because the only thing you were doing was hitting the end turn button over and over. The random encounters were wickedly hard in the beginning and I remember putting the game off for awhile because it just pissed me off. A little more micomanagement for planets, better triple monitor support, better fleet management while in battle (close to encounter didn't prevent your long range missile cruisers from keeping missile distance), lower the wicked strength of randoms when starting. Pixel based damage was amazing, The ability to target areas on enemy ships is fantastic. Get rid of the generic ship designs while in the "design" phase and the generic tech tree diagrams. SotS was amazing gameplay, with a few tweaks to number 2 could make it outstanding.

I haven't had as much fun with any 4x game since Master of Orion that I had with SotS1. The expansions were amazing. I am really looking forward to this one.

Can't wait! SoTS is the best space strategy ever.

I hope it's easier finding enemies on the RTS battle this time around... that was frustrating and time consuming. A dynamic universe is what I'm looking forward to in this game and if they don't change the AI from the first game with all it's patches and expansions then SOTS II will be a truely great 4x space strategy game!

The story line campaign sounds good, Kerberus takes a lot of pride in their stories.

you do realise that this is a turn based RTS game, not only that, but the first game came out BEFORE mass effect

I know that I'm grasping air here, but does their box art/poster art style looks like Mass effect 2. But more importantly looks like a good game. Might pick it up but I might skip the release and wait for a digital sale.

Absolutely loved the first game and its expansions. However they released a zombie game that was utter buggy trash. So I will be cautious on release day to see how others/sites are running the game in a working manner or if I need to wait for a patch to get a playable game.

Can't wait. But then again, SOTS sucked up more hours of my time than any other game I have owned. I can feel the sleep deprivation already.
