All I've heard about SoTS II are horror stories. The only way Paradox and Kerberos can save this franchise is to put together some sort of expansion pack that adds a new race or two, but most importantly is completely stable. They likely hood of ether of those two things happening is pretty much zero. It's a shame what has happened. Bugs and missing features have pretty much killed one of the most interesting original ip's of the last decade.
I am very disappointed to be honest, i loved the first game but this one is just full of bugs, or better yet the game feels terribly unfinished, iŽll put this on the shelf for now and wait that they sort out all the bugs for once.
ok updates have been done for this game but there are still many issues. It may end up being a great 4x space game but still frustrating in current build. the company plans on doing 2-3 updates a week to address all problems. Here is a list of the issues I have been having now. 1. Slow transition from screen/menu to map (in later portions of a game it may be 10-20 secs). 2. Crashes when you try to establish providences. 3. Will sometimes crash when you try to upgrade stations. 4.Sound with error and go mute and if you want it back you must restart the game/reload your save file. 5.So odd errors with empire budget management and research they change funding or place "0" in. 6. Combat is all wackey as your ships have to travel further but time may be limited and when you are in range your ships wont respond to attack orders. There may be more but these are some of the ones I have been dealing with frequently.
I was sad when I started this up and was unbelievably confused at how to play and when the game was labled as easy to learn I cried at this lie... at least @kiopta1 has more or less than the same problems as I
Here is a list of the issues I have seen so far. 1. stuck in windowed view. 2. sound mutes and wont come back. 3. no options menu as it is greyed out. 4. Game play is unresponsive and far more confusing than previous SOTS. 5. team colors and ship items change radomly while playing. 6. There is more but my frustration is so great that I am done untill they fix a ton.
The updated, current version isn't much better. Right now this game very much unplayable. Check back in a month from now and maybe it will be good but for now, stick with SotS1.
