Sword of Mana? More like Sword of Zzzzzz...

User Rating: 5 | Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu GBA
This game does not live up to its predecessor, Final Fantasy Adventure. The only good thing about Sword of Mana is the art and the soundtrack; the action is fun for a few hours but gets really old really fast. After 4-6 hours of play you will be waiting for the game to end, but guess what? You still got awhile to go! I was actually trying to rush through the game just to get it to end, I was bored to tears. And I love the original Seiken Densetsu games... but this one can suck it.

The story in this game is a mess, the dialog bogs the game down (these people do NOT shut up, it would be OK if the story was actually good but it sucks), the action is frustratingly repetitive, the game drags on for way too long, and the characters are lame. I've killed thousands upon thousands of bad guys, for what? All you do is level up, occasionally get new weapons (which suck, the sword and bow are all you will likely use). It's a big, boring grind. This game is about as fun as playing with your toes.

The main characters, the "good guys," are huge pansies, always crying when they have to kill someone. I am tired of these lame, wussy reluctant "heroes" but I won't dock the game points for that, it fails in enough categories as it is. I miss the bloodthirsty mercenary hero from Seiken Densetsu 3! Now that dude was a badass, wild hair and all. He loved to fight and fought for honor, glory, and vengeance. And he didn't look like a girl... the male hero in this game does. I hate that crap. I miss RPGs where men were men. But I digress.

Play the original and throw this hackjob to the dogs. I regret buying this piece of crap.
