Ok so not quit a clone, but i can't help think of the charm and fun of exploring the high seas in Pirates....and then not finding it here.

You spend most of your time sinking fellow ships...running errands for the locals....and fighting duels. It's a good idea and it works well in many ways.

The naval battles are pretty good. You can upgrade your ship with weapons and other things (much like Sid Meier's Pirates) you can then board the ship and take the booty through a very repetitive fight and dueling process (much like you know who's game).

No i don't have a problem with clones, but this one really misses. The dueling for example. Sloppy, boring, and WAY too easy. That pretty much sums up this game....WAY TOO EASY!

A couple good things it does have going for it.....an experience/leveling up system that works well. It looks actually pretty good for a ps2 game. Exploring the high seas looks good and the addition of a little blood here and there is always welcome in my book.

Oh and i almost forgot....the worst and most and annoying part of this game.
There is no Dialogue in the whole game!! I know there wasn't any dialogue in Sid Meier's Pirates, but it was cute and part of the charm. But this game, it just doesn't fit! You get to listen to grunts, groans and mumbles throughout the whole game.....and its so poorly done!

But, with all those downfalls, if you were a fan of the other BETTER Pirate sim, then give this one a try.....just expect to be let down a bit.
