    @taffelost
    Then you better play TBS (Turn based strategy) instead if you love to think before moving your pieces. Maybe you already played TBS before. If not, I reccomend Europa Universalis. Or Total War series, mix of TBS on world map and RTS battle - only involving existing troops from your world map production.

    I never was a big RTS buff in the first place. They move too quick for me and he who generally "draws" the quickest wins in my opinion. I need games I can ponder my next move over, with that said I'm aware they are hugely popular and that I am in a minority.

    Looks pretty good, the problem that I had was that it took forever to build fighting units, and when u finally did have a good size army if you weren't careful they would be wiped out and you'd have to start over.

    i hate it when company's focus on making games like this for consoles cause they are limiting it to hardware that is now 5 years old. I want to see what a quad core CPU and the latest graphics cards (which are like 3 times as powerful as the one in the 360) can do on a game like this.

    Company of Heroes detail on a massive scale anyone? Just a dream for now...

    Chris Taylor is wrong: A good RTS game do not focus on tactics, nor solely in strategy. It gives the player a deep experience on BOTH levels. Starcraft does that. The recent Red Alert 3 does that either.

    The develoopers of the game are taking a huge risk. They´re triyng to keep it up for the fans of the first title, and made some important modifications to please those who like Starcraft gameplay style, and, at the same time, making it run easier on low end Pcs. The game lost it´s identity. I bet that in the end they´re gonna miss all the targets. It will sell good in the first weeks or couple months, and end up there. I also bet that the pro reviews will not be as entusiastic as in the previous game. Just wait and see.

    Finally a company has the balls to say that they are creating an RTS which is complex and requires actual thinking. It is good to see that base building is not dead. It is just evolving. They also respect their fans even if they are getting old. Let's face it. Total Annihilation is out for about 15 years and this gamestyle is still ruling. Instead of changing it completely like EALA did for the CnC series they decided to evolve it. And that was a wise choice. Blizzard will do the same with Starcraft. I bet it will prove that there can be best seller games which do not follow popular simplification trends like the RTT one. If you are not patient enough to base build for 3 minutes you should skip this game. Also Supreme Commander supports the "turtling" playstyle, so it is not for those who seek short online matches. It is fast paced but it is not short in match duration. Personally I think the game will shine in singleplayer and friendly multiplayer. But it will not be for those who do not have 1 hour to spend and want to go online.

    RTS WILL NEVER WORK AS THEY SHOULD DO ON CONSOLES !! unless they release a dedicated mouse and key board for such games, controllers have so many limitations , just by using a controller undermines the point of a strategy game

    THis is my favorite All time strategy game. IMO it deserves to be #! but in reality the list goes.
    1. Total Annihilation
    2. Starcraft
    then etc.

    The most pur strategy game out there though is hands down Rome & Medieval II: Total war games. THose games are true strategy games. But my fav is SupCom then Total war games.
    Just something about SupCom

    does anybody know if there will be a pre-release demo? especially for the 360, then we'll see if an RTS of this scale works on a console.

    Finally someone gets it! RTS Games are not "STRATEGIC", they are Tactical. Traditionally, Strategic games have not been very fun. I will be very curious to see if they can make this game fun.

    Heres hoping the game doesnt let down the series, I have faith. Chris Taylor sounds like a tool though.

    Srategy has always been my no. 1 genre, though turn-based proved best for me as RTS has never been anywhere close to real strategy. Yet Total War and Supreme Commander proved that there are still good games around. Now i'm looking at this report, all the videos and i'm extremely happy that it's back. Though some things worry me as well - downgraded graphics, 3-5 minutes build-up time ? Hmmm...
