I couldn't find machinarium and splice on the ios app store but I already purchased machinarium in a bundle before so..I dunno I guess the benefit of the bundles are charity and choice...I'm still undecided onto how bundles effect the indie economy and it will be interesting to see what happens if other bundles infiltrate androids ecosystem and drive the value of individual games down..or up
@cheamo The future is upon us all. My father still is one of 100k population that still waits 3 days for a newspaper to get published, printed, and delivered even though the rest of the world read the news on the internet 15 minutes after it actually happened. I cant help but be reminded of the Civilization series. When technology becomes obsolete, then you just have to let it go man. ;)
@masterdrat @cheamo I would agree to a point unless those directing the video are effective at marketing and communication. I'm pretty sure the future will revolve around a friendly GUI as a far more effective and efficient from of communication then Egypt's coined idea of hieroglyphics (ie words). I would even go as far as to say as long as solar flares dont end the all earth as we know it, than the GUI will replace the primitive alphabet. :)
PS Let's hope the Mayas are wrong...

Damn, I need to jump on this. I've got some pretty good games on my Android phone. But these are show stealers.
any emulator can outcompete games such as these w/ the games already made for other consoles

Seriously I was expecting some serious discussion on how this sort of thing could impact the gaming landscape if, perhaps, it's successful enough that it starts becoming more common. Instead I just got a summary of the games, which was almost inaudible given how loud the music on this video was. I love the Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP music - I bought the album but at one point in this video it was playing over the music for Splice, which itself was getting in the way of what what the presenter was saying. This video really is a mess and not what I expect from a professional website like game spot. It would even look out of place in an enthusiasts channel on youtube.
Rant over but this really is one of the best bundles yet and it is at least good that this video gives it some extra publicity. I would call it essential for anyone one with a droid tablet or newer phone.
2 Like I just love humble bundle since the beginning. Call me a cheap steak but I just love to buy stuff in a bundle. But having indie games on my lovable Android phone which I'll never switch for a iPhone is just awesome. I love to see my favorite and very quality titles on my mobile device when I'm on the go.
I think that gaming on Android is catching up with Apple's ever since Android has taken over the sales market of smart phones. So in the future we'll see who will on the end stay on the top ;)

I don't know what it's about, but this seems to work on the concept "just give us some money because nobody buys our game on android platforms". I'd rather buy games in the google store at their price since most games are relatively very cheap and a lot of deals are often made. Also I don't like the idea of getting partially broken games with little to no possibility of getting them fixed.
@ilantis Humble Bundles (PC, e-reader, and now Android) are generally about publicity over money. The folks who run it reach out to developers saying, "Want to include your game in our bundle? It's a great way to get the word out on your game, help support charities, and hopefully make a little money." I don't know what the process is, but I imagine it's not easy to get featured in the Google store.
Once they get a decent number of games, the pitch to gamers is, "Hey, name your own price for some cool games. Designate a portion to us, the developers, and/or charity as you see fit."
Not much more to it than that. In my experience there's no hidden sinister motives to take your money. :)
@chibi-acer @ilantis I'd suspect that a game like Sword & Sworcery would have no trouble getting featured in the Play Market. I find it fascinating that they'd make the platform debut with a humble bundle, but then again, it is a) technically a beta release, and b) historically there is a very small percentage of android users who actually buy apps.
1 Like @ilantis That's not how the humble bundle operates at all. First, the games are updated. I have all 4 android bundles, and they update just as often as any game on the Google Play store does. They're also not partially broken to begin with. The majority of them thus far have been rock solid. Additionally, many of these games are making their android debut, but have been very successful on other platforms. It isn't them begging for sales, its a debut celebration.
@webjr1981 Well now it seems more appealing , but I ultimately think that in order to get good results on android they should focus on making and publishing quality games, instead of selling out. Btw I know/own most of these games already.
@ilantis @webjr1981 There are quite a few quality titles for Android already a lot of them were featured in all the Humble Bundle for Android. But I agree that there could be more quality games. Still When it comes to "serious gaming (or hardcore)" I doubt Android or iOS will ever make any huge steps in that way.
