The ultimate version arrives at last

User Rating: 7.2 | Super Street Fighter II X: Grand Master Challenge (for Matching Service) DC
From the moment the intro screen hits with Ryu there is an undiniable feeling that you are about to play an arcade machine from your sofa. While the game is now close to 12 years old it hasnt lost its charm. It is the original and purest form of 2D fighting.

Having first played it in 1994 with change left over from Aliens V Predator I was not immediately won over. But when the 3DO arrived it was an immediate purchase. This version surpasses the 3DO title as perfection.

The characters look like they are on their last leg (sprites overused) and the sounds are the usual Street Fighter minus the explosive kick noises from the SNES. The stages are really dated looking but the music still stands the test of time.

Collision detection and combos are the meat and bones of this version and a player can reach god like status via dizzy combos , re-dizzys and cheese finishers - provided they put the time required to figure out the physics of the game.

Buy this game if your a nostalgic fan. Otherwise ignore as you have probably seen and played it all before - although not quite at the same level of prefection.
