- "Great multiplayer"
This game is pretty sweet. You can pick from a relatively large selection of characters. They all have strengths. Every characters weighs so much, can hit so hard, move so fast, and all have their own distinct moves. Furthermore, several stages make the gameplay never get dull and each can be better for one character or worse for the next, but not overally to the point that it isn't fair. The sheer speed the game gets up to it just amazing. The amount of skill acquired from playing ( for those of us hardcore gamers) accumulates fast and you'll quickly know who your best character is. There are lots of characters, levels, and trophies to unlock in ways you never even thought of possible for a fighting game. Each character uses each item on the battlefield differently, so a lot of strategy comes from picking up the right item with the right character and whether or not you throw it or keep it. For the most part, all the characters are balanced and fair EXCEPT for 2. Sheik and Marth. Sheik is very fast. So fast that once she gets going, you can't get away until she decides not to grace you with her might and just send you flying. Marth can utterly destroy anything( provided you have the skill). He has a counter move than if you get hit by you can't do anything about, fast attacks you can't get past with a sword or projectile, and amazingly fast aerial combat. Other than those 2 characters, this game is friggen sweet. The multiplayer can get pretty insane. This game brings out the real reason people made fighting games. Inviting people over for a good time, and then owning them with your awesome skills. Here, 4 people can do this at the same time. There is no fighting game pleasure that comes close to when smash someone to pieces with a nonstop combo on this game. A must have for the Gamecube. 9 out of 10.

There is a reason why this game sold the Gamecube. The game is an amazing piece of work with a few issues.
